Maryon King On Upcoming Debut EP, Madonna Influence, And New Single ‘Boys Will Be Boys’

This pop-artist is amazing!

Starting her music career just a year ago, singer-songwriter Maryon King is already becoming a hit on the music scene. And now, she’s back with her fourth single ‘Boys Will Be Boys’.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Maryon about her future touring, favorite single she has released so far, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

M: “I first realized I wanted to pursue a career in music after seeing Madonna’s “Hung Up” music video on MTV. I was 11 years old and I remember telling myself I wanted to be an artist just like her. I was mesmerized.”

Tell us about your amazing new single ‘Boys Will Be Boys’.

M: “Boys Will Be Boys” is a girl power anthem. I wrote it with an all female team and we completed the song in under 3 hours. We had shared a lot of the same experiences of situationships with boys who made us feel like we weren’t worth it, so we decided to write a song based on that feeling.”

Your music has received over 1 Million streams on just Spotify alone. What has been your reaction to your rising fame and music success?

M: “This is just the beginning! There’s so much more I want to achieve in my career.”

If you had to choose, which of your singles has been your favorite release so far and why?

M: “Flatline” is my favorite single because of the emotional and heartfelt lyricism I conveyed in the song.”

You have collaborated with so many incredible artists. If you could collab on a song with any pop singer, who would it be and why?

M: “Madonna or Lorde. They’re two of my absolute favorites!”

You have appeared on so many iconic tours. Would you consider touring on your own?

M: “Touring is one of my main goals after I release my debut EP! I cannot wait to be on stage again; performing is my favorite thing to do!”

Your debut EP is set to be coming out soon. Can you tease what your fans can expect from the release?

M: “I would say fans can expect to dance, cry and feel all sorts of emotions. It’s the most intimate piece of work I have written so far.”
