Cade Tropeano On Upcoming Animated Project And Working On The Series ‘Eureka!’

He’s only 13 years old!

This actor and voice actor is becoming one to know in this industry. As of right now, you can currently hear him as ‘Bog’ in the Disney Jr. hit series ‘Eureka!’

We had the amazing honor of talking with Cade about his biggest voice acting inspiration, favorite snack, and more!

We’re super-happy to have some time today with up and coming acclaimed actor, singer and voice-over talent extraordinaire Cade Tropeano; welcome to our humble pages, Cade! Before we dive into the deep-end, how have you been enjoying your summer?

C: “Summer has been great, but way too short. I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, and I have spent a good bit of time working on that. I have gotten to do some traveling and have met some really cool people and, of course, there’s been some work, too!”

Major congratulations on your stellar work on the Disney Jr. television series Eureka! For those out of the loop, can you talk a little about what Eureka! is about and how your character of Bog – whom you provide the voice for – figures into the proceedings?

C:Eureka! is an amazing new animated series on Disney, Jr. and Disney+, produced by Brown Bag Films. It’s the story of young girl inventor who lives in the prehistoric town of Rocky Falls and is making the world a better place one invention at a time. She is always “thinkering” and inventing new items to solve problems in her community. Bog, is kind of a glass-half-empty type of character but always comes around to Eureka’s projects in the end. Eureka! has an amazing storyline and the most catchy songs. Seriously, once you hear a song, you just keep singing it over and over!”

Did you know as soon as you saw the first script for Eureka! that you wanted to be a part of this brilliant animated series?

C: “I really did! The show, although on Disney, Jr., really appeals to people of all ages. There is so much humor incorporated into the show; it’s really a lot of fun to tape. It really sealed the deal after my callback audition, when I got to meet the team, including my amazing voice director, Sara Sherman. I look forward to every Eureka! session. I think we laugh just about as much as we talk during each session.”

How are you similar to your character of Bog? How are you different?

C:Bog and I both share a love of pizza, that is one similarity. Also, I have had a lot of people tell me that we favor in appearance, but I think his hair is a little more red than mine. We also sound a lot alike! Unlike Bog, I like to try new things.”

For Eureka!, you work alongside some of the best actors and vocal talents in the business. What’s it like sharing such wonderful scenes and moments with thespians like Ruth Righi, Kai Zen, Devin Trey Campbell and Lil Rel Howery among others?

C: Most of the recording for Eureka! is done separately by character, either in studio or from home studios. That being the case, I haven’t worked directly with Ruth, Kai, Devin or Mr. Howery but sharing scenes with them really turned out magically. There is so much talent in this cast, literally everyone is a shining star and brings so much to the show. I am really honored to be a part of it!”

What makes Eureka! different from any other animated shows that are out there?

C: “Eureka! is really special. Most of the show was created while the world was on lockdown, with the recordings being remote and alot of us recording from our home studios. To me, Eureka! is something great that came out of a time when so much bad was happening around us. It shows how people working together can get amazing things done, kind of like Eureka! and her friends. When they all work together, amazing things happen, and they are able to help their community and those around them.”

What do you hope fans walk away with after watching an episode of Eureka!?

C: “I hope kids can look at Eureka! and find new ways to solve problems. I also hope they see that people with different attitudes and personalities can all work together and get along and, in doing that, can create amazing things together. I hope everyone walks away with a smile, but I hope they come back and watch the next episode of Eureka!”

Will there be a second season of Eureka!?

C: “I sure hope so! I think the world needs more Eureka and there are a lot more things that she can invent.”

2022 has been a super-busy year for you – You play the character of Gary in the TV series George & Tammy. What’s this one about?

C:George & Tammy is the story about the life of Tammy Wynette and is based off a book written by their daughter, Georgette. This is another series with a super-talented cast. Jessica Chastain plays Tammy Wynetta and Michael Shannon plays George Jones. Jessica actually won an Oscar while we were filming, so it was really exciting to be able to congratulate her in person for such an amazing accomplishment.”

Can you speak on the challenges of voice acting versus that of traditional live-action acting?

C: “With voice acting, many times I am recording alone in a sound booth. This can be more difficult than live-action acting, because there aren’t other people around you to be able to play off of. You can’t act with your facial expressions or show emotion through your physical actions, you only have your words to be able to convey those emotions. The plus side is that you don’t have to memorize all of the lines and no one knows if your socks don’t match!”

Along with Eureka! You have another new series which is being greeted with critical acclaim, AppleTV+’s BlackBird! What can you tell us about BlackBird and your character of the young Larry Hall?

C: The role of Young Larry Hall was, by far, the most difficult role I have played to date. Larry Hall was a serial killer, who committed his crimes during the 80s and 90s and I was cast to play him during his childhood.  With most of my characters, I am able to find something to identify with from my past, which makes the role easier. That was not the case with Young Larry Hall. The role was challenging from that point, and from some of the material covered, but he was such a complex and emotionally deep character that I couldn’t wait to take on the challenge.”

You have a couple of new projects waiting in the wings for release, what’s the story behind these intriguing-sounding productions?

C: “Rift is a production that is in the works by HaZimation Production. It’s a really cool animated project that is being released in video game format and as a feature film. I play Max Walker, an 8 year old boy who is being held in a scientific research facility and being experimented on for his special abilities. His brother, an ex-marine with PTSD, goes in to rescue him.  The really cool thing about this project is that it was done using Realtime Action VFX in Unreal Engine along with mocap. I can not wait to see, and play, the final product.”

What do you enjoy most about acting?

C: There are so many things I enjoy about acting. I like getting to bring a character that only exists on paper to life and put my own spin on him. I enjoy using him to tell a story and to bring out emotions in people. I enjoy all the amazing people I meet in the different productions I work on, sometimes people from all around the world. Those are just a few of the things that I enjoy about acting.”

Final – SILLY! – Question: Which one food can we always find in your refrigerator?

C: “Grapes! They are probably my favorite refrigerated snack. I prefer green grapes, but any grape will do in a pinch.  Now, if you’d asked about the pantry, I would have definitely said Extra Toasty Cheezits – but they don’t taste as well if you put them in the fridge!”
