The young performers have joined forces!
Made up of singer Tanisako and drummer Brayden Tabakian, Home Late is the duo music group we’ve all been looking for. With over 100K+ streams on their music already, we can’t wait to see what they release next.
We had the amazing honor of talking with the group on dream collabs, the meaning behind their band name, and more!
Q: When did you guys first realize that you wanted to pursue music together?
B: “It really wasn’t long until we realized! We got to know each other over the phone for a good while and always maintained our excited. It wasn’t until Ethan flew out to my (brayden’s) small town that we really started to getting to know each other and what kind of music we liked. When we played together, it felt amazing because neither of us had played in a band. Our video of us together even went viral. That first trip Ethan made to my house really did it for us.”
Q: How did you guys come up with your band name ‘Home Late’?
B: “Home Late came about again when Ethan first flew out to visit me (Brayden) in my small town. One of the first things we actually started brainstorming for our band was the actual name, however we had to figure out what kind of vibe our music was going to be before we could figure out a name. The name came about simply when we were saying random words and trying to combine them. It’s 100% true that one of us said Home and the other said Late and that alone gave us the perfect picture of what we wanted. We even went on omegle, performed a song for people and had a list of names for them to choose from and Homelate was clearly it. We also may have tried a random band name generator once or twice.”
Q: Tell us about your newest single “Rather Stay Home”.
B: “Rather Stay Home is not only one of our most favorite songs we’ve made but it’s really the first song to set the tone of our band and everything we pictured from the beginning! When creating this song, we really wanted to show our true selves. The name of the song alone is how we feel a lot of the time growing up with wild friends. We knew it would resonate with a lot of our young listeners as well, and especially with kids that feel pressured to go out and party hard. The song isn’t meant to be seen as anti-social but it’s meant to be a voice for those that have a hard time saying no to their friends or any other people around them that pressure them. (Ethan) After going to college in New orleans and having a rough cycle of “wine Wednesday,” a thing called “Friday,” and “The weekend,” I’m pretty keen to not go out anymore. Every night would start and end the same way. I realized that staying in and working on my craft served me 10 times better than waking up hungover with a rando in my bed and my skin falling off.”
Q: If you guys could collab with any artist, who would it be and why?
B: “Honestly, there aren’t many artists that we’d officially collaborate with because we still need time to grow. These are our exceptions: The Neighborhood, Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots, The Weekend, Giveon, Charlie Puth, Khalid etc.”
Q: What has been your reaction to already receiving thousands of streams on your music?
B: “It’s something we’ve both dreamed of and pushed for since even before we knew of each other’s existence. The universe suddenly brought both power into one and we’re never giving up. Even so, no expectations going into our first releases but the feedback was impeccable and our growing fan base is the coolest—we are beyond thankful. Now we are hungrier than ever and can’t wait for the fan reaction to our next couple of songs!”
Q: Would you two ever consider performing together?
B: “Performance has to be one of the main things on our minds. We talk about it constantly and recently put together a crazy sick space inside one our friend’s churches. We have many set plans to travel around the world. Touring in Europe, Asia and especially Turkey is our main goal for the future. We cant even imagine how wild its going to get but we are in for the ride.. There are so many countries that we’ve never even thought about that want use to visit them. Expanding our own worlds is going to be a trip in itself. We don’t have specific dates yet but we know it’s going to be soon, especially as some more new music rolls out!”
Q: Can we expect more music from you guys in the future?
B: “No doubt! Very soon our EP that will include ‘Skydive’ and ‘Rather Stay Home’ along with two new songs is dropping. Along with getting ready for shows/ tour, we’re working on a whole album! We are creating new music all the time, so there’s going to be a lot more to come.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
B: “You can follow us on all platforms @HomeLate ! Our individual socials are @braydentabakian and @tanisako . We post covers, photos, and other daily life stuff both on instagram and tiktok!”
