Lily Williams Talks About The Many ‘Learning Curves’ Of Marriage And Upcoming Debut Tour

An incredible songwriter with a beautiful voice to match.

With well over 10 Million streams of her music on Spotify alone, Lily Williams is an artist you need to add to your favorite playlist. Not too long ago she released a new single titled ‘Learning Curve’, and we honestly think it’s her best song yet.

We had the amazing honor of speaking with Lily about her rising fame, her favorite reads of 2023 so far, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a music career?

L: “I have played classical piano and clarinet since I was little and was thinking about going to a classical conservatory when I finished school. However, songwriting was always my first love and so when I found out about Berklee’s contemporary music programs I changed my course! I think it was my time in Boston, collaborating and being exposed to so many amazing musicians, that confirmed to me that I wanted to pursue music professionally.”

Tell us more about your amazing new single ‘Learning Curve’.

L: “I wrote Learning Curve after celebrating my first wedding anniversary and realizing how much I had changed in just one year. When I got married I was saying “I do” to the person that I’d known, to the person he was at that moment, and to the person that he would be in five and ten and twenty years time! The song tries to capture the beauty of saying “I’m going to learn to love every new version of you”.”

What is the best piece of advice you can give to your listeners who are also newlyweds?

L: “Honestly, being married is the best! I think my advice is to prioritize and make time for each other. Also, make sure to communicate and learn how your partner handles conflict. It’s so easy to have misunderstandings and for little things to get blown out of proportion without good communication.”

The cover art of ‘Learning Curve’ takes place at a scenic library. Do you have a favorite book?

L: “I can’t choose a favorite book of all time but my favorite reads this year have been Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah who is one of my favorite authors!”

This might be hard to choose given your amazing discography, but if you had to choose a favorite single you have released so far, what would it be and why?

L: “My favorite single changes all the time, right now I think it’s I Hope You Think of Me!”

You have already passed the milestone of 10 Million streams on Spotify! What has been your reaction to your success?

L: “I am so grateful to everyone who listens to my music and supports me. It’s been so cool to start achieving some of the dreams that I’ve had since I was little. I’ll never get over seeing my songs on peoples playlists or stories. One of the highlights of my career has been my grandma hearing one of my songs playing in her favorite grocery store back in England!”

You are going on tour with Haley Joelle this December! Can you tell us what about the tour you are most excited about?

L: “I am so excited because this is my first ever tour. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and playing my songs for them. My parents are flying out for the New York show, so I can’t wait for them to see the show too!”

Where can we follow your amazing journey?

L: “You can follow me on socials @allthepeopleilove !! There you can also sign up to my email list to get exclusive updates. If we have any avid readers here feel free to add me on good reads and I am obsessed with Pinterest so you can follow me there too!”
