Influencer Kent Boyd On Being In Pridehouse LA And All-Time Favorite Disney Movie

This performer is a jack of all trades!

You may recognize Kent Boyd for his dance career on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ or his iconic role as ‘Rascal’ in the ‘Teen Beach Movie’ franchise. Now, he’s a part of the famous Tik Tok group ‘Pridehouse LA’.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Kent about his rising social media fame, touring goal, and more!

What first sparked your interest in pursuing acting?

K: “It was dance! Dance led me to do musical theatre which lead me to plays, where I discovered acting and how it’s used to tell a story.”

You have worked with so many amazing artists in your dance career. Who would you like to work with next?

K: “I’d love to work with singer Remi Wolf. As for actors, I’d love to work with Zendaya again—such a real talent!”

You are a part of the Disney family after your role in the ‘Teen Beach’ franchise. That being said, what would you say is your all-time favorite Disney movie?

K: “Duh… High School Musical 2! Shout out to Vee!”

You were also a part of establishing Pridehouse LA on Tik Tok. How important do you think it is to provide representation for the LGBTQ+ community?

K: “Representation matters! Role models and mentors are what help shape people into the idea of themselves. We must be seen and heard!”

What has been your reaction to receiving millions of likes on social media?

K: “I love it! It opened up a new portal I didn’t know existed. I think social media will continue to carry a huge weight into the future so I’m happy to be a part of it!”

When not working on content, what are some of your favorite things to do?

K: “Helping friends and colleagues on their passion projects. Whether it’s something visual, a script, or a sculpture, I’m “down to clown” as they would say.”

Where do you see your career in 5 years? Do you have any upcoming ideas you want to pursue?

K: “I’d love to be touring with an artist as a part of their creative team! Help bring live entertainment to you.”
