Today, we’ll be time traveling back to the 1980s. Yep, that’s right. This is the post-disco era from the 1970s. Although the 80s might make you think of workout yoga outfits, rest assured knowing it was more than just that. Here are some trends from the 80s that are back in the fashion game today.
Cycling shorts
Spandex was one of the most popular materials in the 80s. Hence, cycling shorts! In addition to spandex dresses and bathing suits, cycling shorts were also really trendy in the late 80s.
Leg warmers
Leg warmers were originally used to keep muscles from cramping in workout outfits. Now, they are slowly coming back as a casual accessory to keep your feet warm.
Denim
When I say denim was popular in the 1980s, I mean anything denim. From jean jackets to mom jeans, it was denim galore. Whether it was Acid-washed or high waisted, it was all popular in the 80s.
Padded shoulders
Yes, padded shoulders are coming back. Puff sleeves and ruffled sleeves are also accompanying this trend.
Bucket Hats
In the 1980s, hats became mainstream fashion accessories. Along with fedoras and sun hats, bucket hats became popularized as rappers began wearing them more.
