This fashion influencer is trending like crazy!
Charlize Chiu, a current fashion influencer, has been going viral on Tik Tok for showing off her amazing fashion sense. She already has over 17 Million Likes and is well on her way to 1 Million followers.
We had the honor of interviewing Charlize on all things fashion, inspiration, and best advice to give to others.
Q: How did your interest in fashion first begin?
C: “My mom used to always dress me up when I was younger, making me feel unique. So I have always liked dressing up since then. In high school, I took a fashion merchandising class my freshman year, and we went on a trip to Chicago to meet a bunch of people who worked in the industry. Because of the trip, working in the fashion industry became a major interest of mine.”
Q: What made you decide to become a fashion influencer on social media?
C: “I have tried this “influencer” thing multiple times throughout my teenage years because I have always been a big fan of social media. But because of school, I never had the time to take it seriously and would just end up deleting my accounts. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally had the time to focus on content creation––and chose to create content within the fashion niche because I was going into fashion school, and wanted to get more in tune with this passion I had.”
Q: Has it been hard to consistently post content on social media, having school and family commitments?
C: “I’ll be honest, this past year has been one of the most stressful years of my life, balancing school and social media. My first year of college was completely remote, which made things a little bit easier; but I worry about this coming school year, since I will be in person and interning as well. It’s a lot to handle at times, but it has also been a good challenge that has taught me how to manage my time and practice self care in order to not go insane.”
Q: How would you describe your personal fashion style in three words?
C: “Classy, girly, personal.”
Q: What are your main sources of inspiration for creating looks?
C: “I love scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram for hours, saving looks that I like.”
Q: If you could style any celebrity, who would it be?
C: “Yeonjun from the group, TXT. I just recently reacted to his outfits for a Youtube video, and I love his style so much. He experiments a lot with his fashion, so styling him would be fun because he seems to be open to a wide range of looks.”
Q: Would you ever consider starting your own clothing line one day?
C: “I would love to, or just starting my own company in general. I think building my online presence on social media is a good first step.”
Q: What is one piece of fashion advice that you wish you had learned sooner?
C: “Fashion is all about art and creativity. You don’t need to wear outfits that are “socially acceptable” to be fashionable. Just wear what makes you happy.”
Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future?
C: “I am looking forward to growing up with my followers. I want to see them grow confident in themselves and become the person they want to be, and I want them to watch me become a better creator for them throughout the years.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
C: “My Tik Tok and Instagram is @charxstyle. And I also create videos on Youtube: Charlize Chiu.”
