This new actress is heading straight for the big screen!
Diana Kirk is truly making her way through the industry, working on shows from Netflix’s hit “Outer Banks” to Hulu’s star-studded “Vacation Friends”.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Diana on her favorite role, her favorite actresses, and more!
Q: What first inspired you to start acting?
D: “My parents signed me up for theater classes at my local theater when I was in elementary school. At first I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but I ended up enjoying it a lot. The day of our first big performance I noticed something I loved: I was making people in the crowd smile and laugh. That feeling was absolutely amazing and I realized I wanted to chase that feeling. The fact that those people could have been going through a hard time or having a bad day, and I was the one to cheer them up made me so happy. It made me realize that I love entertaining people and made me want to get into the entertainment industry.”
Q: What was working with the cast of “Outer Banks” like?
D: “Working with the Outer Banks cast was amazing! Out of all the sets I’ve been on, this was the most kind and supportive group of people I’ve ever worked with. The director and crew members were all so friendly and kind and the actors were so humble and nice. I remember Chase Stokes giving me a high five and going out of his way to be nice to everyone on set! Everyone was constantly joking around and making it such a fun place to be! It was a comforting feeling as this was my first time on a big set.”
Q: What has been your favorite experience so far in acting?
D: “My favorite experience so far in acting would be getting to play serial killers with my boyfriend on Snapped: Killer Couples on Oxygen and Peacock. It was my first time working with weapons and also my first on screen kiss and I got to do it with my boyfriend which was super fun! We murder someone, get arrested, and fall in love all in one episode! It was epic!”
Q: What is your current favorite movie and why?
D: “I may be bias, but currently my favorite movie is “Vacation Friends” on Hulu because I had the privilege of photo doubling for the lovely Meredith Hagner (who plays John Cena’s wife in the film). She was pregnant during filming so needed someone to play her in the scenes she’s in the background while she rested. Basically I was a stunt double without the stunts! I got to do a scene with John Cena and he was so incredible to work with! He was definitely one of the most kind and humble people I’ve ever met! It was an incredible experience and a hilarious movie! It’s one of those feel good comedies that’s perfect for anyone who needs a good laugh!”
Q: If you could star in a TV show with any actress, who would it be and why?
D: “I think that would have to be a tie between Mila Kunis and Zooey Deschanel. Mila is incredibly funny and just all around such a great actress. I love her goofy energy and I can see us vibing really well! I loved her role of Jackie in That 70’s Show. Zooey was so hilarious in New Girl and seems like such a fun person to work with! She used to take acting classes at one of the studios I’ve worked at and I’ve heard amazing things about her.”
Q: What would be your dream role?
D: “That’s a tough one because I fall in love with every single role I play! I love a good variety and playing all sorts of characters. The one thing I want to make sure is that the characters I play have depth to them and are multi-dimensional. In college I studied psychology and interpersonal communications and it taught me a lot about why people are the way they are. I love being able to use that information to shape the characters I play. Another thing that I love is when my characters inspire people. I love playing roles of the underdog because I want to be the voice for the people and give people who are going through a hard time hope and encouragement.”
Q: Can you tell us anything about “No Rest For The Wicked”?
D: “No Rest for the Wicked is a horror show that comes out on Amazon Prime Video on December 19th! It’s about a young man who is plagued by the ghosts of his past who return to his hometown after 8 years. It’s super dramatic and we had a blast filming it! It was my first time doing a horror show and it was awesome working with all the special effects and action that happens. When we were filming it, the emotions and feelings of the characters seemed so real. It really helped me be able to act out what was happening in the most realistic way possible. Something crazy happens to my character but I can’t give it away. Stay tuned to find out!”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
D: “You can follow me on Instagram @diana_kirk and also my IMDB page! I will also be appearing on The Jayme Starr podcast in January where I share a little bit of my story.”
