SPOTLIGHT: Singer Sydney Cope On Performing, Billie Ellish, And New Single “Think I Found My Way”

This Texas performer is a true double-threat!

From starring in Netflix’s amazing movies to performing her incredible music, is there anything she can’t do? Now, the Texas-based performer is back with new empowerment single “Think I Found My Way”.

We had the absolute honor of talking with Sydney on her new single, the Texas music scene, and more!

Q: What first sparked your interest in music?

S: “My love for music initially began through dance when I first started at the age of two years-old! After training for several years, it opened up new opportunities which inspired me to explore creating my own music and performing around the DFW area! I started taking vocal lessons at the age of seven which helped guide my way through the music industry, and I have been able to continue creating ever since my initial interest!”

Q: Tell us about your brand new single “Think I Found My Way”.

S: “Think I Found My Way” was originally inspired over the course of quarantine, along with the other three songs I released with it on my latest EP “The Sounds”. The whole album is about personal experiences and the internal conflict of emotions that escalated throughout quarantine, and “Think I Found My Way” is the last song on the album. The main theme of the song is finding yourself again and entering a new chapter to get back on track, and it is the happy resolution to finishing my EP “The Sounds”.”

Q: What has been your reaction to receiving thousands of streams on your music?

S: “Initially music started just as a hobby and as a therapeutic way that helped me express my emotions. I’ve been so grateful for the love and support that I’ve received over the years, and the positive feedback has been my motivation to keep going and growing through the process! My goal has always been for others to relate to my music in some way, and I hope to continue that as time goes on!”

Q: What is the Texas music scene like?

S: “Although COVID-19 did have a negative impact on the world, one positive aspect that it did bring would be the advancement in my music career! It not only brought inspiration for new music, but it opened up many doors for new opportunities! With Texas opening up, many venues were excited and eager to bring new artists back to the live performance scene! I have been able to perform at many different venues around DFW, and make many new connections with other talented musicians along the way! Being in Texas has allowed me to showcase my new music to different audiences, and I’m excited for the variety of upcoming events to further my career!”

Q: If you could collab with any music artist, who would it be and why?

S: “One artist that would be the dream collaboration would be Billie Eillish, because our voices have similar softer tones that could create a unique sound. Another reason I would love to collab with her would be how creative her content is visually. Similar to Billie, I have started to explore more behind the camera and I’ve gotten more into directing my own music videos!”

Q: What is your favorite part of performing your music live?

S: “Starting from a young age, I’ve always enjoyed performing live and being surrounded by other individuals that also love live music. One reason I enjoy performing music live would be physically having an audience there to feed off their energy. Another reason I’ve kept it up over the years would be creating a different sound that differs from the recorded version of my track. The stage has always had my heart, and I’ve been so thankful for every opportunity that has come my way on this journey through life!”

Q: Can we expect more music from you in 2022?

S: “Most definitely! My goal is to continue performing at different venues around Texas, and I have a new single I will be releasing at the beginning of next year! Music will always be a part of me, and I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon!”

Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?

S: “You can find all of my socials and more at this link! 🙂 https://linktr.ee/SydneyCope”
