He is a rising star!
From his amazing acting career to being an incredible influencer, Jake Diaz is definitely someone to look out for in the entertainment industry.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Jake about horror movies, charity events, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
J: “I started in background acting at the age of 9. As soon as I stepped on set and was around the lights, cameras and crew, I knew right away I wanted to become an actor. I love everything about being on set.”
You are set to star in both ‘The Dead Place’ and ‘Desert Fiends’. Are you a fan of horror movies?
J: “I am a huge fan of horror movies! I love the suspense and having my heart race with anticipation. Although I know how things work behind the scenes, I still have such an excitement watching the special effects makeup and how the lighting, fog, set, etc. is all prepared for a thrilling scene!”
What has been your favorite project you have worked on so far?
J: “There have been so many but being able to play a vampire in “Watch Over Me” was definitely one of my favorites! You can check the short film out here: https://youtu.be/KBmqKIDstm0.”
You have gone to so many events! If you had to choose, which has been your favorite event you’ve been to so far, and why?
J: “It’s tough for me to choose just one but I will say that any event that supports a charity or cause is something I’m passionate about. I especially love supporting the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.”
How do you balance your amazing acting career with your schoolwork?
J: “That’s a great question and something it’s taken some years to get used to. At first I really struggled with having to give up my free time to audition, memorize scripts and things like that but my mom balances it all out with some cool things. She will support my “adrenaline rush” needs and get me into extreme sports and things that keep me feeling satisfied. That balance helps me through the challenging times of having to balance both school and work. I’m also homeschooled so that helps too because we can set our own schooling hours!”
When not working, what are some of your favorite things to do?
J: “As I mentioned, I am an extreme sports kind of teen so I love to BMX on the track, I like Parkour, Rock climbing, Stunt training and exciting experiences of any kind.”
What advice can you give to young kids who want to pursue a career in acting?
J: “That depends on how involved in the industry they want to be. If you just want to do some background work for fun then have a blast! If you want to make a career out of it, you will have the time of your life but be prepared to really dedicate yourself and give up some of your free time. It’s the only way to really succeed. You need to prioritize your career and what it takes to make it.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
J: “You can find links to my social media accounts here: https://linktr.ee/thekidventurist. I am most active on Instagram and would love for you to join me: https://www.instagram.com/jake_thekidventurist/.”
