Music Artist Day 0ne Talks About New York, Martin Garrix, And New Single ‘Sunset’

One of our favorite DJs!

With several music releases and a rising fanbase, Michael Salas, known in the industry as Day 0ne, is quickly making a name for himself. And now, he’s back with another single ‘Sunset’.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Day 0ne about how would he describe his sound, his upcoming projects, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in the music industry?

D: “It really came down to just figuring out what I actually want to do for the rest of my life and be happy about it. And the only thing I actually saw myself doing for the rest of my life was making music. I just love everything about it from brainstorming my next track, to creating it and to finally releasing it for the world to hear it. I really enjoy the process and everything that comes with it so for me it was an easy decision to drop out of school to pursue my music career.”

Your most recent single was ‘Sunset’. What was your process for creating that amazing song?

D:Making this track was so much fun. It all started with the vocals, I got sent a demo and I thought the vocals sounded really amazing. So I started producing around the vocals and I was truly happy with the result. It came out very melodic and there was so much authenticity in this song.”

If you had to choose, which of our music releases has been your favorite so far?

D: “I think my latest single “Sunset” would have to be my favorite one so far.”

How would you personally describe your sound?

D: “I would describe my music style to be diverse and authentic. For me, being authentic as an artist is very important because I am connecting with the audience on a deeper level. As human beings we go through different emotions, so when I express that through music it makes it more meaningful. My main goal as an artist is to always connect with the audience and If I can get an emotion out of them then I know I did my job. My style is also very diverse, for me this is extremely important because as an artist inorder for me to stay creative I need to try new things consistently. There’s days when I just want to produce an emotional song that delivers a message and then there are other days where I just want to produce a rave track with no vocals. I got into music in the first place to have fun and to express myself and for me this is the best way to keep things interesting. Just going to the studio with an open mind and producing whatever feels right at the moment.”

If you could work with any fellow artist in the music industry, who would it be and why?

D: “If I had to pick one it would be “Martin Garrix ” because he’s the reason why I got into electronic music so it would definitely be an honor if I got the chance to work with him.”

How would you personally describe the music scene in New York City?

D: “There’s so much diversity in the New York City music industry. So many different talented artists with different cultures.”

Can we expect more work from you in the new year?

D:Yes a lot of brand new collaborations with so many talented singers. I really enjoy working with different artists, everyone is unique in their own way.”

Where can we follow your amazing journey?

D: “You guys can follow me on instagram: @day0ne. Also checkout my website www.day0ne.com.”
