This young journalist is already interviewing the greats!
Victoria G is known by her rising fanbase for producing amazing interviews with celebs of every background underneath her platform ‘Hello Victoria G’.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Victoria about her dream interview, favorite interview so far, and more!
You have a platform called ‘Hello Victoria G’ where you interview many people throughout the industry. What made you want to start doing that?
V: “My love of watching, reading and listening to interviews of my favorite celebrities since I was a kid made me think about potentially becoming an interviewer myself. When I turned eighteen, I decided to finally bring this idea into fruition.”
Do you have an interview that you did that stuck/meant to you the most?
V: “There’s many and I hate picking favorites (laughs). However, a recent one would be an interview I conducted last month with author Edward Ashton. His new book, Mickey7 is currently being developed into a movie for Warner Brothers, which I am super excited about.”
Who is your dream person to interview?
V: “There are so many and the list just keeps getting longer (laughs). My favorite band of all time, Chicago is going to be releasing a new album next month, so I am currently trying to get an interview with the band. That would be a dream!”
You have created a short film called Noise. What was your inspiration for creating that?
V: “It started out as a final project to obtain my Associates Degree, so I guess the inspiration for creating it was to graduate. However, it turned into so much more once I started writing the screenplay for it. I thought that if I really gave my all with this, that it could lead to a whole other world in the business. “
What was the hardest part for you when creating your short film?
V: “The hardest part was doing it all on my own. I was alone in the house with not even a proper tripod! I think it turned out really well and I’m proud of myself.”
What qualities do people need to have to be a great interviewer?
V: “They need to have knowledge of what the individual they are interviewing does for a living. They need to be respectful of them as well. Another quality would be to study other interviewers.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years as a Journalist?
V: “Hopefully in five years I would have reached over a thousand interviews and/or I am working for a big time network that specializes in entertainment journalism, not so much the celebrity gossip side of it. Kind of like what Nickelodeon used to do when Lily Collins would host a show called On the Orange Carpet.”
Do you have anyone that you look up to as a Journalist?
V: “Some massive inspirations for me are Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey and Ryan Seacrest.“
