Actor Wyatt Walter On Dream Roles and Peacock’s “Killing It”

This young actor is already in the big-leagues!

Wyatt has already captured our attention on the big screen, with his previous roles in everything from Showtime’s ‘Shameless’ to Disney’s “Sydney To The Max”. But now, he most-recently stars in the Peacock original series ‘Killing It’

We had the amazing honor of talking with Wyatt about the new role, how he got into acting, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?

W:My Grandmother realized I had a natural knack for acting and music and she didn’t want me to miss a casting opportunity that was coming to our town.  As a former school teacher, she cleverly used my favorite food (donuts) as a bribe and the rest is history. My first audition for Film/TV in Los Angeles happened to lead to a network test — So we moved west and I started taking classes and learning more about the audition process.”

Tell us about your upcoming role in Peacock’s original series “Killing It”.

W: In “Killing It” I play Corby, Brock’s (Scott MacArthur) son. Brock and Corby go on adventures out in the swamps, trying to capture footage for Brock’s failing YouTube channel. Corby doesn’t want to engage at first, but throughout the season, Corby’s character development leads to a change of heart and a renewed sense of family.”

Do you think you have anything in common with your character ‘Corby’?

W: Oh yeah! Corby is a very laid back individual and we both love video games.”

Besides the TV shows that you have starred in, what is your current favorite show and why?

W: “Futurama! They recently announced the revival of Futurama and I’ve been binge watching it in anticipation. The writing on the show is just so comical, witty, and unique.”

Do you have any funny stories from your experiences on set?

W:There were so many hilarious moments, picking just one is extremely hard. Scott MacArthur (Brock) was constantly doing pushups and he’d pull out the most bizarre Elton John references that never failed to make all of us laugh.”

Is there a type of character that you’ve always wanted to play?

W: I’ve always wanted to play the super villain or psychopath, just because it would differ so much from the roles I’ve played to date.”

What advice can you give to young actors trying to pursue a career in this industry?

W: “Keep going! If it’s something you really want to do then buckle down and put 110% of your effort into it — Get into classes and network! Continue to put one foot in front of the other and you will watch your career flourish.”
