This indie-artist is about to hit the charts again!
This LA-based artist is almost at icon level. With over 1 Million monthly listeners, Rosie Darling is known for her biggest hits including “Coping” and “Witness”. Now, she’s preparing to release her upcoming EP entitled “Golden Age”.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Rosie about her dream collab, touring goal, and more!
*Warning: Cuss words included
When did you first realize that you wanted to start a music career?
R: “From a young age, it has always been a dream! I started to take it more seriously as I got older and once I figured out how to release music on my own before moving to LA.”
Tell us about your amazing new single “Fucked Up Summer.”
R: “I love this song! I wrote it a few years back, and it’s heavily inspired by Halsey. This song has so much energy, and it feels like a great summer anthem, so I hope people hear that too!”
Can you tell us anything about your upcoming EP’ Golden Age”?
R: “This EP has a lot more upbeat songs on it than my last. I am always experimenting with production, and I think you’ll hear more of that on this EP which I’m excited about. I also think performing these songs will be super fun.”
What is your songwriting process usually like?
R: “It honestly depends on the day! I have to take space from some songs before going back to finish them. But others, like “Golden Age,” are written quickly. I remember writing that one with Justin Gammella and David Arkwright in less than a couple of hours. Sometimes you get into a flow with other writers, and when that happens, it usually ends up being a special song.”
Have you seen a difference between the music scenes in LA from Boston?
R: “In writing and collaborating, I mostly work with people on the west coast! I haven’t spent a lot of time on the east coast in a long time, so it’s hard to compare. I love going to shows in LA because I usually bump into a million people that I know in the music industry. It feels like a supportive and encouraging environment, especially when some of your friends are fellow artists!”
If you got to collab with any artist, who would it be and why?
R: “Probably LANY! I’ve always been a fan and I’d love to write a ballad with them.”
What has been your reaction to receiving over 30 Million streams on your music?
R: “I feel like my brain can’t process how many people that is!! I am very grateful to have such loyal fans, especially since I haven’t been able to tour during the pandemic. It feels like we’re building something cool together, and I can’t wait to tour.”
When not working on music, what are some of your favorite things to do?
R: “Right now, I am listening to a lot of podcasts. I love to hang out with friends, go to the beach, or hang out at the park and read. I am much more of a homebody than I thought after being stuck at home these last couple of years.”
What are some of your biggest goals for your music career? Maybe a world tour?
R: “Touring would be a dream come true! I’d love to tour and travel the world. It definitely would be a crazy experience.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
R: “Online! I am on Instagram and Tik Tok; please follow along, you might hear some unreleased music if you do.”
