Why Public Relations?

Foo recalls his start in PR and what drew him to the industry in the first place. Recognizing the vast opportunities offered by virtual business, Foo dedicated his time to start his own company in a virtual setting. After establishing an idea, he began to shape the direction he wanted to proceed in. Dipping his toes in e-Commerce and lead generation, Foo did not feel a connection. It was only a matter of time before he discovered the realm of Public Relations. Foo loved to connect with people and PR gave him the opportunity to turn a passion into a business. Now with client dedication and extreme discipline, Foo finds himself in love with PR.

Taking Care of Yourself Amidst Business

It is important for a business to display integrity and clarity. That is why Foo is completely forthcoming in his struggles with depression and the critical role they played in his journey to becoming a successful CEO of a PR firm. Foo wrestled with committing to his business and often found himself burnt out and depressed. There is one simple hobby that has turned those aspects around, yoga. The young entrepreneur’s daily yoga practice helped him create discipline in other areas of his life. As his yoga abilities improved, so did his focus and ability to work toward his own career goals. After taking action and committing to a daily yoga routine for a few months, Foo landed two of his biggest clients to date. All the effort and discipline did not go to waste. In his recovery Foo often thought, “It’s hard to be depressed when you are making money.” Bottom line, as a business owner it is vital to develop ways to overcome temporary setbacks.

Self-discipline helped Foo ground his business with an overall philosophy of making lasting connections. Foo had the privilege of attending a Mastermind in-person event. It was there where he learned from agency owners making a minimum of $300K+ per month. The conference was life-changing for Foo, and not just from a business standpoint. Day 1 of the workshop focused on learning and practical application workshops. Whereas, day 2 was divided to offer learning and networking experiences. During day 2, Foo got to network and build relationships with the speakers and other guests of the conference. With networking arguably being the most important aspect of the entire opportunity. In Foo’s own words, he had the privilege of “making connections with people that I am still in touch with today.” Building relationships is critical to the success of any business and it is the lifeblood of his own business experience.

NFTs and the Future

Keeping an open mind and finding new avenues to build connections from plays a major role in the development and success of a business. Many businesses are beginning to see the opportunities arising in non-fungible tokens, also known as NFTs. Foo is preparing to launch an NFT branch of his business in 2022, where clients will have access to higher privileges depending on the level of trust or how much investment is made. Foo shared how being active in a paid or earned community makes the connections a lot stronger. NFTs make it easy to monitor who has access to certain resources. They can also become valuable collectibles that commemorate an important event in the history of the first recipient. Holding both resources and sentimental value can be a significant bonus to this virtual product. Those clients Foo has the best connection with are those who have landed the biggest deals. Networking with those clients has been a highlight of his career. People are drawn to positive influences and Foo agreed that “your network is your net worth.”
