On April 9, the actress/singer Glennellen released a five song EP entitled “Unbirthday”. And well, we’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since. Here is a complete review of each song on the set list, and our official New Scene rating of “Unbirthday”.
EX-BOX
This song might be the song of the summer. It has such a catchy chorus, and the lyrics tale something that we have all experienced: a heavy breakup. It’s the perfect breakup anthem and we don’t want to log out of the game either.
UNBIRTHDAY
The title song of an EP is generally used as a kind-of filler song, but Unbirthday is completely different. The perfect music video aside, Glenellen shows her amazing belting range throughout this song and it’s clear that she was born to be on our playlists.
FANFICTION
I would say that this is her deepest song yet. Glenellen really broke down the broke down the fourth wall and let her heart go out all the way, which few artists have the confidence to do. The song is a fan-favorite and we won’t keep living in your fanfiction.
SCORPIO
We have to place this song as one of our favorites on the list, mainly because of the insane notes and the beat that I definitely did not expect. But also because of the adorable shout-out the singer gave directly to her dog at the end of the song. We love you Casper!
SUITE SIXTEEN
Now this song is on a whole different level. Paired with incredible and visual lyrics, the musicality of this song is next level. If this is her EP, I’m not sure we can handle a full album.
This EP is a 5/5 from New Scene! Stream it now wherever you find your favorite music! The full unedited interview with Glennellen on this new project airs on ROKU TV and Amazon Fire TV on 5/3!
