Nali Talks About Upcoming Tour-Opener Shows And Electric New Single “Maybe” Ft. Coi Leray

The music industry has something special with this artist!

Emerging R&B singer-songwriter Nali is definitetly a musician to look out for. With a mesmerizing vocie and relatable lyrics, her storytelling abilities are next-level. She recently dropped a collaborative single with rapper Coi Leray, and yes, we admittedly still have it on repeat.

We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Nali about Erykah Badu, her dream collabs, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

N: “In full transparency I realized I wanted to pursue a career in music this year. Before this year I was pretty unsure if I wanted to keep doing this seriously or not because I didn’t have that motivation that I needed. I pray a lot and in my prayer I asked God to show me if I was aligned with my purpose in life and this year he positioned me in a way to confirm that this is what I was created for. I know people may hear that a lot but it was very real for me.”

In 2025 you talked about being shy and living a private life. What has helped you be vulnerable and open up in your music career?

N: “I’m still wanting a very private life! But, I think in this industry, vulnerability and showcasing your flaws is something essential. Music is very spiritual and in order to connect with people you have to let people in so that’s exactly what I plan to continue doing in my life regarding my career, which is VERY scary for me because this world is full of opinions and opinions can be very destructive but that’s apart of the game and I’m willing to face that.”

We have got to talk about this incredible collab with Coi Leray! How did you guys first connect?

N: “I met Coi through Saint Harraway, who signed her to a deal at Universal (Republic). When he later launched Courtesy Of Records, which I’m a part of, he helped connect the dots and bring everything full circle. she showed up to my release party for my first project and I really appreciated that because she 100% could’ve been doing something more worth her while but she decided to take the time out and connect with an artist who’s emerging in a completely different category that she’s in and I admire her for that. It showed how humble she is and I loved her before but now I’ll especially always root for
her success because she’s supported me in such an early stage of my career and it
means a lot.”

What’s some dating advice for someone who is going through the same relationship scenario in ‘Maybe’?

N: “If you are going through releasing someone because you know this situation is not beneficial to you or the other person, I think it’s so important to remind yourself how much time you’re saving leaving them alone rather than wasting more time with someone who you know won’t be in your life forever. The only thing we can never get back is time so spend it wisely with people who help you better and bring you peace in life. Definitely easier said than done though!”

You and Coi’s voices on the same track is something we didn’t know we needed. Who else would you love to make a song with?

N: “I would love to work with James Fauntleroy, Robert Glasper, Destin Conrad, Ambré, Jailen Josey, SZA, Willow Smith, the list is pretty long honestly.”

With popular hit singles and a successful album, what would be the song that best represents
you as a music artist?

N: “UGH! As someone indecisive, this question feels so unfair! If I MUST choose I would probably say I Want You by Erykah Badu. Her lyrics are so conversational and simple, I think I have a very similar simple, conversational writing style. Her production is always amazing, but this song was so special to me because it’s so niche and the production that I hold near and dear to my heart is usually very niche and hard for some people to comprehend. She also gives so much room for her production to stand out while having
fun with her melodies and it’s just so playful and experimental. In my career, after I deliver what’s necessary to get me through the door, I plan to unleash a completely playful, experimental sound that I’m excited to show.”

You are about to open up for multiple shows on Jordan Ward’s ‘The Apartment Tour’! What
are you most looking forward to on the road?

N: “I am looking forward to exploring different cities! I don’t travel much because I’ve just really stepped into adulthood and I didn’t travel too much in my childhood so this is a really exciting moment for me to explore different cities as an adult and learn about different cultures that some individual states have.”

With over 5 million streams and a fanbase growing by the second, what career goals are you
taking on next?

N: “I am so excited to step on a stage and everyone in the crowd knowing my songs word for word. I think that’ll be another big milestone that doesn’t feel too out of reach this year that I really look forward to.”
