One of our favorite people on our timeline!
Internet sensation and comedian Ediza Ferris has been making us double over in last for years. From her relatable mom content to her hilarious TikTok reaction videos, she is a comedy influencer that you need to know.
We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Ediza about being a child actor, a common content creation misconception, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to start creating content for social media?
E: “I started continuously putting out content for social media during the pandemic when everybody was on stay-at-home orders. I found a lot of my creative juices were put to use during that time because I loved making content that was relatable, especially during the time in my life where I was a new mom, and I was sharing that experience with my audience.”
Which fellow content creators, or comedians in general, would you say make you laugh?
E: “Certain content creators that I have loved working with are Renee Reina from the Mom Room. I was lucky to have been one of the first guests on her podcast when she first started it. Other content creators that really resonated with me were Aaron Goldenberg and Jake Jonez also known as the Mean Gays. They inspire me every time they put out a new post. Fellow actors that I very much look up to and admire are Alan Tudyk, Peter Dinklage, and as of recently Ariana Grande.”
Your comedy content on social media is skyrocketing, with nearly 30 Million likes on just TikTok alone! What has been your reaction to your social media success?
E: “Well, thank you for that. I’ve never really looked at the numbers or had it brought to my attention before, but those numbers seem pretty high! But I’m always still working towards my overall goal and that is to be able to make this a full-time career.”
Is there anything you want to say to your fans that are consistent viewers of your content?
E: “I’m sorry! I put stuff out there because I always want to share the laughter that I had while creating it. I just hope they’re enjoying it as much as I am!”
What would you say is the biggest misconception when it comes to being a popular social media content creator?
E: “That you make a lot of money. A video can go viral of yours, but more often than not even though your content can go viral, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you make a lot of money. I think that’s the common misconception that people have with people that are Internet famous because for one I’m not rich and any income that I make off of my content is not enough to be a sustainable income for my family.”
Outside of social media you are also an actress! Is this a career field that you hope to dive into more and more in the future?
E: “I’ve always wanted to be an actress in television and film since I was little. I think I joined John Robert Powers a long time ago because it was something that I genuinely asked my mom and begged for. I had an agent at a very young age and then as I grew older, it was a lot more difficult for my parents to continue doing. I think that is a big misconception about child actors. The job isn’t usually the child’s, it’s more so on the parent, so if a parent is not committed to that type of work and responsibility then it reflects on the outcome of the child’s success. My parents put a lot of work into my education first and foremost. Now that I’m older and I’m able to do the work on my own and also while taking care of my family.”
2025 is at it’s mid-way mark, but there’s still an opportunities to accomplish some goals before the year is over! Is there a goal that you all would love to accomplish in this year?
E: “2025 is where I feel I want to push the amount of creativity and content across all mediums. Whether it be television or film or on social media. I want to be able to collaborate with other creators across the different platforms and just push out as much content as possible, and really move forward with that as much as I can. But at the same time, I am still a mom who is helping to raise a toddler and an elementary school child along with my husband so as much as I want to push out my goals, I have to also look at our family’s goals as well. I want to be able to give my family my best, give my children the best childhood that I can, and still be able to pursue my career as a whole. “
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
E: “I’m starting a new website where you will be able to get newsletters frequently on all the new content that I start putting out. You could sign up for that on ediza.com but you could also follow me on all of my social channels, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.”
