His new role is one to watch!
From ‘Le Chalet’ to ‘District 31’, Karl Walcott is always on our TV screens. Currently, he is starring in CW’s hit TV show ‘Riverdale’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Karl about his first acting gig, his advice for aspiring actors, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
K: “I loved making home videos with my brothers and cousin as a kid and always dreamed of being an actor. I decided to seriously pursue it when I was 19 years old.”
Tell us more about your amazing role in Season 7 of ‘Riverdale’.
K: “To me, Clay Walker is a loving, caring, intelligent student that joins the Riverdale gang, and slowly becomes someone pretty easy to love.”
Do you think you have anything in common with Clay?
K: “I think Clay is someone I could only dream of being similar too. Maybe if I was raised in the 1950’s, in a completely different setting, by different parents. But I try to be grounded and fight for what is right… at least, I aspire to be that way haha! Clay Walker is all about that! But other than that, I don’t think we have much in common. I will miss interpreting him though.”
What was it like behind the scenes of the show? Any favorite memories?
K: “Behind the scenes, at first, was very overwhelming because of the size of all the sets in the Riverdale studios. I wasn’t at all used to being a part of something so gigantic before. The trailers are amazing! The crafty is always delicious and so much selection that everyone can enjoy! Loved the experience of being with all those talented and generous actors as well. The Riverdale family is big! I was still meeting people 8 months after we started shooting. I’m so lucky I got to meet Nick Barasch, Casey Cott, Roberto Aguirre- Sacasa and many more amazingly talented and passionate people! We had a blast!”
Now that you are a part of the CW family, what are some of your favorite CW shows?
K: “I am very grateful to be a part of such an amazing family! I hope the network will continue for much longer. They do great things!! My all-time favorite show on the CW is SmallVille! :).”
Besides the show, what has been your favorite acting experience so far, and why?
K: “The day I got my very first gig!! The show was called “Les Béliers” a web series out of Québec that unfortunately only had 1 season but that was enough to put me on the map and propel me towards much, much more.”
What is your best piece of advice for people who want to pursue a career in acting?
K: “Don’t dream it, be it. If you fail, it means you’re doing something right!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
K: “I like to post about my upcoming shows and events on my Instagram account @karl_walcott and also on my Facebook page: Karl Walcott. Thank you!”
Make sure to watch Karl in ‘Riverdale’, airing now on the CW!
