This group is TV gold!
Made up of artists Luna and Luxe, Lunaluxe has already accomplished big things in the music industry. Their previous singles have already been featured in some of our favorite shows, including Peacock’s “Paris In Love” and “Selling Sunset”. Now, they are back with their brand new single “Best Life”
We had the absolute honor of talking with the duo about seeing their songs on screen, songwriting process, and more!
When did you girls first realize you wanted to create music together?
Luna: “We’ve been writing music together for TV, film and trailers for the last three years, and one day just came up with the fun idea to actually start a duo pop project and put our personalities into that. We love art and visuals as well, so we wanted to make sure we incorporated our passion for visuals along with the music.”
How would you personally describe your sound?
Luxe: “We call it Galactic pop.”
Tell us about your new single “Best Life”.
Luna: “We wanted to write a fun anthem that just makes you want to go out, have fun and live your best life. We wrote “Best Life” during the pandemic, when we definitely couldn’t go out and live it up like we were used to, so we put all our excitement and energy into the song which was such a great outlet for us during that time. It’s a reflection of how we were feeling that day and how much we didn’t let the pandemic weigh us down or prevent us from living it up in our own way.”
Luxe: “We want the song to be a reminder that no matter what you’re feeling or going through, to try to see the positive and live your life to the fullest every single day.”
What is your songwriting process usually like?
Luna: “When we write together, it’s generally very quick and inspired! The two of us are quick writers in general, but when we write together our process just flows so fluidly. We usually work with a producer to produce the track while we come up with the lyrics and melody. We usually finish a song within two hours or less.”
What has been your reaction to having your songs included in several TV Show and Media soundtracks?
Luna: “It’s always fun to see our songs on screen! We love to see how they are used to picture because when we’re writing them we always have a certain character or scenario in mind that inspires the song. So it’s great to see all the ways the songs can be used to tell a story or bring a scene to life.”
Who would you say are your biggest music inspirations?
Luxe: “So many! We’ve had many musical inspirations over the years – Being involved in the music world for as long as we have been, we’re constantly inspired by other artists and writers. To name a few we love – Amy Whinehouse, Adele, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Madonna, Leon Bridges, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, The Beatles, and the list goes on.”
Can we expect to see more amazing music from you both in the future?
Luxe: “Absolutely! We will be dropping more singles throughout the year and then eventually an album. There may also be a very fun, colorful animated music video of our characters along with it as well.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
L: “Find us on Spotify and Follow us on Instagram! @lunaluxemusic.”
