Singer Samantha Gangal On Music Inspiration, Songwriting, And New Single “Ruin Me”

This young singer is back with another hit!

Influencer, actress, and singer Samantha Gangal is truly a jack of all trades. Already with over a thousand streams, Samantha just released her newest single “Ruin Me”.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Samantha on favorite actor, songwriting process, and more!

When did you first decide to pursue a career in music?

S: “I have been singing for as long as I can remember. At the age of 10 is when I decided I wanted to sing professionally.  I started with musical theatre, but my favorite songs are 70s and 80s rock.”

Tell us about your amazing new single “Ruin Me”.

S: “Ruin Me” is a song about a one sided relationship and the frustrations that go along with it. It’s about someone who is desperately trying to protect themselves from falling for someone, but failing miserably.”

You also co-wrote this incredible song; What is your songwriting process usually like?

S: “My songwriting process varies depending on the day and song. I normally sit down with my vocal coach (David Kidd) and we talk about situations we are currently seeing friends and others going through. Sometimes the words come first, and sometimes it’s the melody or a riff or two.”

Who is your biggest music inspiration, and why?

S: “Steve Perry is probably my biggest inspiration.  He is an amazing singer.  Most of the music I listened to growing up was from the classic rock bands my parents listened to.”

You have also done a lot of acting work; Which has been your favorite role so far?

S: “It’s kind of a tie between a couple of things I’ve done.  I filmed a commercial a few years ago and it aired nationally on several networks.  It was pretty cool to see that and to get texts from friends and family every time they saw it.  I am also in an upcoming episode of NCIS and am really looking forward to seeing it when it airs!”

Is there an actor/actress you would love to work with someday?

S: “Benedict Cumberbatch is currently my favorite actor.  It would be really cool to work on a project with him some day.”

What has been your reaction to having hundreds of thousands of supporters?

S: “It’s been so amazing and I appreciate each and every one of them.”

When not working, what are some of your favorite things to do?

S: “When I am home, I binge watch old tv shows and hang out with friends. I also love to travel.”

Can we expect some more music from you in the future?

S: “Yes, I am working on 3 additional songs. One is currently in the production stage. I should be releasing an EP this summer.”
