This loved actress just made her way into the MCU!
Regina Bryant is definitely not a stranger to your TV screen! She first grabbed our interest in our favorite binge-worthy shows including ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy” and Showtime’s “Shameless”. She now just made an appearance in the Disney/Marvel official series “Hawkeye”.
We had the absolute honor of catching up with Regina on her theatre, her favorite actress, and more!
Q: When did you realize you wanted to act?
R: “When I was 6 years old I played the First Little Piggy in the “Little Piggy Opera” at school and I was hooked ever since. From then on, I participated in all forms of performances, from cheerleading, competitive dance, a cappella, choir, gymnastics, and plays/musicals, but I did not move from home and pursue a professional acting career until I was 12 years old, and my drive/passion for the craft just continues to grow!”
Q: How does it feel to be part of the Marvel Universe?
R: “It is such an honor to be a piece of the storytelling in the MCU! To play a role in such a special and highly renowned cinematic world is a blessing I did not see coming.”
Q: What was your reaction when you got notified that you booked Hawkeye?
R: “I actually did not fully realize I BOOKED the role at first! I assumed that I was just one of the last few options for the role, so I was definitely excited, but was still not trying to get my hopes up (meanwhile I had fully booked the role already… haha). Once it was 100% confirmed and I knew the role of one of Kate Bishop’s bestfriends, “Franny”, was mine, I was in SO much shock and so so grateful. It took me at least a good 48 hours to fully process the opportunity I had received.”
Q: Were you able to meet Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld?
R: “Yes! I did not work with Jeremy Renner, but it was such a pleasure meeting Hailee. We were able to rehearse and film one scene together, and she is an absolute joy to work with.”
Q: Do you have a favorite Marvel character?
R: “Hmm, it is a little hard for me to choose; but I love Black Panther, Iron Man, and the Hulk.”
Q: Favorite Marvel film?
R: “Definitely Avengers: Infinity War!”
Q: Favorite Marvel TV show other than Hawkeye?
R: “I actually have not watched a Marvel show other than Hawkeye yet!”
Q: What genre do you want to act in in the future?
R: “I want to take part in all forms of storytelling that have a beautiful, honest, or needed purpose. Growing up I always gravitated more towards the comedy and horror genre, but would love to be in drama, action, dance/musical, sci-fi; any and everything. Being an artist and having the ability to create meaningful stories that capture life, inspire, enacts change, provides a voice for those who feel they do not have one, or even cheers someone up, is priceless in any form.”
Q: If you could star in a tv show with any actress, who would it be and why?
R: “Viola Davis. I believe she is ONE of the most authentic, raw, and inspiring actresses out there. I have looked up to her for years and have constantly been in awe as a woman of color seeing another woman of color break so many barriers. I would be BEYOND honored to do a scene, show, or movie with her, and would soak up every single moment.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
R: “I keep my journey updated on my website www.reginabryant.org, Instagram as @reginaddbryant, Facebook as “Regina Bryant – Artist”, and Twitter as @gina_boo13 :)”
