Influencer Katie Kellogg Talks Social Media, Ohio University, And Her Goals

With well over 1 Million Likes on social media, Katie Kellogg is making her way as an amazing influencer! Her fans love not only her cool videos of herself in her water lifestyle, but insides into her day-to-day life.

We had the absolute honor of interview Katie on all things going to university, her journey with social media so far, and what’s next for her.

Q: When did you first start content creating on social media?

K: “I started creating content in September of 2019, but didn’t take it very seriously until October of 2020 when one of my videos got over 325k views and that’s when I knew this was something I wanted to be apart of. I began posting daily and saw my followers and views quickly rise, which motivated me to continue posting because I now had thousands of people watching me. One day I had posted a random dancing video to Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” single and just after a few minutes the video was blowing up. It now has over 3 million views and was truly the video that started it all.”

Q: How has Ohio University been like for you so far?

K: “I don’t officially move in until August 19th, but am constantly down in Athens with friends because my brother has a house on campus. I grew up going to OU because most of my family went there and I have known it was the school I wanted to go to since I was a little girl. I am so blessed to be attending my dream school and even more excited to create super fun content for all of my viewers on such a beautiful campus!”

Q: What has been your reaction to receiving over 1 Million likes on Social Media?

K: “It is absolutely surreal. I am so incredibly grateful to have this platform and be supported by so many people around the world. I’ve always dreamed of being an influencer and sharing my content with the world, so to be given this opportunity still feels like a dream. I truly am the happiest I’ve ever been since starting TikTok.”

Q: What has been your favorite moment of your life so far?

K: “I don’t think I could narrow it down to a single moment. There has been so many beautiful and amazing moments that I have gotten to share with the people I love most, but if I had to choose one, it would be hitting 100k followers on TikTok. I just remember sitting there with my family watching the numbers go up and finally hit 100 thousand. I’ve never smiled more. This was such a huge milestone for me and to think 100 thousand people were following me and my life was so crazy to think about.”

Q: If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be and why?

K: “I would love to meet Madelyn Cline from Outer Banks. Ever since the Netflix show came out last summer, I instantly fell in love with the show and Madelyn’s character, Sarah Cameron. My best friend Allie and I watched season one the day it came out while scrolling through Netflix and coming upon the show. We stayed up all night and binge watched the entire season until 5am. I love the entire cast, but it would be a dream to be able to meet her!”

Q: What is the best advice you can give to your fans?

K: “My best advice would be to be stop caring about what other people think of you because at the end of the day, your opinion is the only one that matters. Once you learn to love yourself and do what you want, everything else will fall into place. It is so exhausting caring about what everything else thinks and constantly doing things to please other people. At the end of the day, people are going to say what they want, so do what makes you happy!”

Q: What are your biggest goals for your career?

K: “My biggest goals for my career would be eventually to hit 1 million followers and be able to collab with some of my favorite creators! It will definitely not be easy and will take time, but I believe that it will happen in the future. It would also be amazing to be able to work with some of my favorite clothing and beauty brands and be able to start traveling for these brand collabs! Absolutely cannot wait to see what the future holds for me and my career!”
