‘Got To Get Out’ Contestant Rob Roman Says He’s Ready To Take On More Reality TV Shows

Quite the Reality TV debut!

If you haven’t watched Season 1 of Hulu’s ‘Got To Get Out’, then what are you doing? Famed reality TV icons joined regular people as they stayed in one mansion and had only one goal: getting out. With high-adrenaline exit strategies and $1 million dollars on the line, the premiere ‘Got To Get Out’ was exceptional, and some of that credit belongs to Rob Roman. A police sergeant wearing his heart on his sleeve, he was easily the fan-favorite contestant of the season.

We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Rob about

When you got the opportunity to star in Got to Get Out, did you have any reservations, or were you ready for it?

R: “Oh, I was ready! A completion on a major steaming network with a million dollars on the line? I live for this!”

We absolutely loved seeing the connections everyone seemed to form on screen, especially you and the rest of the guys (complete with that impressive last-attempt exit in the finale). Are you still in contact with any of the other cast members?

R: “Ahhh, that last escape attempt!! I’m actually really close with those guys. Closest with Val and Steven. Steven and I actually stay at Val’s home whenever we’re in LA. They are my brothers!”

The producers were able to edit 10 full days of pure chaos into 10 concise episodes. Was there anything prominent that was left out of the final edit?

R: “A lot was left out, unfortunately. We had several challenges that they didn’t show: the building of our friendships, intense arguments, alliances that split, lying, lying, and more lying! I get it, though; you can’t show everything.”

Hopefully, this series gets a second season! If so, what is your best piece of advice for the next round of contestants entering the house?

R: “Make as many alliances as possible; just don’t let the others know about each other. I was involved in most of the escape attempts, even though I never actually ran. If I had, it would’ve exposed that I wasn’t just working with one group. Staying in the game gave me the ability to build trust across multiple alliances while keeping my options open.”

Looking ahead, did this experience make you want to continue in reality TV? If so, what competition shows would you be willing to take on next?

R: “Absolutely!! I’d jump at the chance to do more reality TV. I love the challenges, the excitement, and the once-in-a-lifetime experiences it brings. Got to Get Out pushed me mentally and emotionally in ways I didn’t expect, and I thrived in that environment. So whether it’s The Challenge, Survivor, The Traitors, or a new show, I’m ready. Just point me to the next adventure.”

We are curious: What did you do with your $40,000 prize money?

R: “I haven’t received it yet, haha! The first thing I’ll do is pay taxes (Hi, Uncle Sam).”
