Reporter Hannah Fletcher On Hosting Her Own Talk Show And Meeting One Of Her Heroes

A reporter you need to know!

Through rede carpet appearances where she’s interviewing some of your favorite celebrities, Hannah Fletcher has quickly been making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. And she’s far from done! In fact, she recently embarked on her very own television show, The Hannah Fletcher Show.

We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Hannah about her dream guest for her talk show, The Academy Awards, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in reporting?

H: “I realized my passion during the pandemic. It was very evident to me after finding old footage of myself as a young child interviewing. I am beyond thrilled that I am able to interview, and I am grateful that this epiphany occurred during 2020.”

Tell us more about your amazing upcoming show The Hannah Fletcher Show and how it came to be.

H:My Executive Producer, Eric Wheelwright, is to thank for this project. I have had the dream of hosting a talk show for many years, and it has always been a passion of mine. The show developed after articulating my aspirations to Eric throughout this year. The Hannah Fletcher Show is designed for people of all ages, but it is especially intended to resonate with those of the younger generation who are overlooked in terms of the current talk show space and climate. I am beyond thrilled to bring conversations and segments to screens for young people and provide inspirational content in many capacities.”

Who would you say is your dream guest to have on your show?

H: My dream guest to have on the show would be Jelly Roll! His story is absolutely incredible, and I particularly love the idea that he is able to advocate for the idea of achieving any goal at any age.

When it comes to interviewing celebrities and working on red carpets, what do you think is the biggest stereotype or aspect of your job that people aren’t aware of?

H: “I think one of the biggest misconceptions could be that the reporters are inherently close to those who are walking the carpet, and that is definitely not the case! Yes, sometimes I see people several times, but most of the time I am meeting talent for the first time. Though it is relatively rare, it is very exciting when you see talent that you’ve interviewed before.”

You’ve been everywhere from premieres to VidCon! Is there an event or venue you love to report at in the future?

H: “I would love to attend and report at any of the most popular events like The Academy Awards and so on.”

Who do you think you were the most starstruck with in an interview so far and why?

H: “Bert Kreischer was very memorable because of the nature of the red carpet setup that he had in LA for his movie premiere of The Machine. He was very much in his element: the carpet was set up to mimic a carnival-like layout, with many game stations such as axe throwing, beer pong, and so on. He was so kind, and I will say that the expression “don’t meet your heroes” can sometimes ring true, but not at all in this case.

Naturally, when I found out that I was going to interview Bert, I was beyond excited because I’ve seen every standup special of his multiple times over. When the time came to speak to him, I am beyond thrilled to say that he was genuinely one of the nicest celebrities that I’ve ever had the opportunity to speak with. Bert was a great listener and he exhibited so much gratitude to be in his position

So… if you can meet your heroes, do it!”

What is your best piece of advice for your young fans who want to also get into reporting?

H: “If you have a passion for this industry on your heart and the ability to realize it and yearn for it, pursue it in absolutely any means possible. As long as it’s in alignment with yourself, your morals, and what you are looking to achieve you should go for it.”

Where can we follow your amazing journey?

H: “You can follow me and the show online @thehannahfletchershow and @hannahrfletcher.”
