Starting her music career off with a bang!

Yasmina Moonlight has been one of our favorite influencers for years, and she’s consistently been showing off her musical abilities on social media. Well now, she’s finally releasing music on her own and her debut single is definitely worth the wait.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Yasmina about her dream fashion collaborations, her social media fame, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

Y: “I realized I wanted to pursue a career in music when I noticed the profound impact it had on my life. Music became a form of therapy for me. Every time I sang or wrote songs, I was able to escape from the challenges and negativity around me. It was in those moments that I felt the most at peace. Additionally, watching my favorite artists and seeing the way they connected with their audiences inspired me deeply. I often imagined myself in their shoes, performing and creating music, and it became clear to me that this was something I wanted to dedicate my life to.”

Tell us more about your amazing debut single ‘Habibi (My Baby)’ and how it came to be.

Y: “I honestly didn’t expect ‘Habibi (My Baby)’ to do as well as it has. For the past year, my followers have mostly been used to hearing me sing in Arabic, so I was really nervous about releasing my first single in English. The response has been incredible though, and I’m genuinely surprised by the amount of support I’ve received. Everyone seems to love the song as much as I do, and it’s surreal to think that people are actually listening to my debut single. It’s crazy to me, and I’m beyond grateful for this experience.

What is your best piece of advice to listeners who are going through a breakup from a toxic relationship?

 Y: “NO TURNING BACK!”

How important do you believe diversity is in the music industry?

Y: “I believe diversity is incredibly important in the music industry. Music is a universal language, and having diverse voices and perspectives helps to enrich that language. When artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences share their stories through music, it allows for a deeper connection with a wider audience. It also fosters creativity and innovation, pushing the boundaries of what music can be. Diversity ensures that more people can feel represented and heard, which is vital for both the growth of the industry and the impact it has on society.”

You have collaborated with so many brands, from Sephora to Anastasia Beverly Hills! What brand would you love to work with in the future?

Y: “I’m incredibly grateful for the brands I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with so far—sometimes I wonder if it can get any better. That said, I would love to work with iconic names like Vogue, Bvlgari, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton in the future. I’m also passionate about beauty, so partnering with more makeup brands would be amazing as well. It’s hard to narrow it down because I truly love so many aspects of fashion and beauty, but those would be my top choices.”

You have over 1 Million likes across social media! What has been your reaction to your rising fame?

Y: “Every day, it still feels so surreal to me. I’m incredibly thankful that God blessed me with this gift, and I truly have the best supporters around the world. It’s hard to put into words how it feels, but I can definitely say that all the hard work I’ve put in has been paying off. I’m beyond grateful for the journey and for everyone who’s been a part of it.”

We think that it is time for you to come up with a name for your growing fanbase! Any ideas come to mind?

Y: “I’m always surrounded by people who call me the moon, and I absolutely love that. The moon is so beautiful and has such a calming presence. I think it would be amazing to call my fan base “my moons or moonflowers” or something along those lines—it feels fitting and has a special meaning to me. you guys help me choose!”
