Paulina Talks About Her Hannah Montana Upbringing And Sophomore EP ‘everything’s still’

This pop princess is amazing!

After coming on the scene back in 2023, Paulina is continuing to show the music world that she is another icon on the rise. And she is doing just that with her new EP ‘everything’s still’

We had the pleasure of speaking with Paulina about Noah Kahan, the music artist she would love to collab with, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

P: “I think it was something I always wanted to do. Growing up I’d watch Hannah Montana and put on performances for all my family and friends. I was on stage my whole life, in shows and playing piano. I did a songwriting camp while in high school and met other kids my age that were putting music out. I knew I wanted to do the same, and spent my college years writing, recording, and figuring out how I was going to do that. There wasn’t really one specific moment for me, the love was always there.”

Tell us more about your amazing new EP ‘everything’s still.’

P: “Thank you! It’s a 3 part story that follows a breakup I had. It’s more bold than my past music, both lyrically and sonically. I wanted to push my limits and range. I’ve been holding onto these songs, and am so excited to finally get this body of work out!”

If you had to choose, what is your favorite song off of the EP and why?

P: “That’s really difficult, and it’s always changing. I think “funny (interlude)” is cool because we used a lot of background sounds, making it more of an experience for the listener. It’s also the shortest song I’ve written, and I kept it that way because I felt like I said all that needed to be said. I wanted to create a song that leaves you wanting more. Good thing you can hit replay ;).”

We love the title reference to Noah Kahan! When did you first become a fan of his?

P: “He’s so awesome, right?! I’ve known of him for a couple years now, but really dove in when I first heard “Stick Season” last year. I immediately wanted to listen to more and after going through his album, I started putting his whole discography on shuffle. He’s been making music for so long. He’s a brilliant writer and has a voice that’s super comforting. I saw him play The Hollywood Bowl back in June and it was truly unforgettable. I cried like 12 times.”

Since you also work behind the scenes at Warner Records too, is there an artist from the Warner roster you would love to do a collab with?

P: “I’m a big fan of Dijon. I don’t know what that collab would sound like but I’d be so down to experiment and find out.”

How different do you think the Los Angeles music scene is compared to where you grew up in Long Island?

P: “It’s pretty different. New York will always be home, but LA is filled with opportunity. The creative community is next level and it’s way smaller than you think. Coming from a place where I was one of the few that wrote pop music, it’s amazing to be surrounded with people sharing the same passion and goals.”

How do you think you’ve grown from a musical and/or personal perspective since your debut EP to this one?

P: “Oh, there’s so much. I feel like this is a matured version of my music. I’m more comfortable with my voice and my story and knowing the kind of artist and person I am. I’ve had tons of new experiences. I’ve developed new outlooks on life. My writing reflects that.”

Where can we follow your amazing journey?
