He may be young but this actor is already reaching major career milestones. From voicing a character in a major animated film (‘Puss In Boots: The Last Wish’) to a film he’s center stage in being screened at the iconic Cannes Film Festival (‘Camera’), Miguel Gabriel is truly a star on the rise.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Miguel about his advice for aspiring actors, his experience filming ‘Camera’, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?

M: It was during an acting theater class and my teacher was very impressed by me that he went over to my Mom and said “hey he should be an actor.” That’s when I realized, this is a career I’m going to pursue because when I was younger, I didn’t know you can work in Hollywood, so it wasn’t an initial goal I wanted to achieve but more me trying out different things and see what catches my eye, and it was acting.”

Tell us more about your role in the incredible new film ‘Camera’.

M: “My character Oscar, a mute individual, encounters substantial hurdles, including bullying, social assimilation, and identifying his role in life.”

Do you think that you have anything in common with your character Oscar?

M: “I can relate to Oscar’s communication struggles, having faced similar challenges in my own life. As a youth, I had a speech impediment that made verbal communication difficult, but I developed alternative methods of expression through facial cues and body language, which led me to pursue acting. Similarly, Oscar’s camera art provides a powerful means of expression, offering multiple advantages.”

What has been the most exciting moment you have experienced throughout your career thus far?

M: “Working on Camera was an exceptionally enjoyable experience due to the collaborative and affable nature of the entire crew, who demonstrated remarkable humility and dedication to their craft.”
