This is truly a pop summer!
Do you know what this summer needed? A Lillian Hepler bop! Thankfully, the incredible artist just brought us one (aka ‘Famous’) and we are so happy she did.
We had the honor of speaking with Lillian about her dream collabs, her best advice to aspiring singers, and more!
What was the move like from your hometown in Utah to Los Angeles? Do you think that LA is the best place for an artist to grow?
L: “Moving to LA was an opportunity that I’m really glad I took. It was definitely a little bit hard at first, and even a couple of years in it can feel lonely and like people aren’t always as kind as you’d hope they’d be and/or they don’t have your best interest in mind. But, living in LA has helped me meet so many great people that I wouldn’t have been able to connect with otherwise, and it’s also taught me not to be so naive. As far as artist growth though, I don’t think it’s essential to live in LA in order to find success. Social media has really made it so you can live anywhere and find success.”
Tell us more about your amazing new single ‘Famous’.
L: “Famous’ has been in the works for some time now and it’s definitely a favorite of mine. It’s different, upbeat, and super catchy. I believe it’s a song that can be applied to various relationships. It’s about how satisfying as it might feel in the moment to call someone out publicly about the ways they’ve hurt you, nothing will ever be as satisfying in the long term as not letting people know they ever existed. People want to be remembered – aka “famous” – so if they hurt you, don’t let them!”
This may be hard, but if you had to choose, what is your favorite song you have released so far and why?
L: “Famous’ is definitely my favorite song I’ve made so far! I’ve written a lot of songs, but the energy that ‘Famous’ delivers is the perfect stepping stone to all my future releases. I really do believe I’m evolving as an artist and that this is just the beginning. Who knows, maybe ‘Famous’ will be ‘Famous’ ;)!.”
You have amassed over 50 million streams on just Spotify alone! What has been your reaction to your daily growing success?
L: “I’m so grateful and continue to remind myself to be! I dreamed of reaching these heights but I won’t lie, sometimes it’s hard to be satisfied because of the larger goals I continue to have for myself. But, I know as long as I’m grateful, patient, and determined, I will continue to accomplish all the things I set my mind to.”
Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
L: “Post Malone or Justin Bieber! For one, I love their music and being able to watch their growth as artists. I believe my voice would really compliment both of theirs and I would be so giddy to be able to work with either one of them!”
Do you think your fanbase should have a nickname, and if so, do you have any ideas?
L: “Yes! The lilheps. I have always joked that if I was a rapper that I would go by the name “lilheps” since, after all, it is kind of my name. I think it has a nice little ring to it. A lot of friends of mine actually call me that as well.”
You started out your career doing covers and now you are a rising icon! What is your best piece of advice for young female artists who want to make it in this industry?
L: “This is so kind, thank you! The advice that I always give is be consistent and believe in yourself. If you believe in yourself, other people will eventually follow suit because the results will come from your consistency. It’s not always an easy industry but it can also be very rewarding. Lastly, stay true to who you are! There are a lot of copycats out there and, to be honest, I’ve never seen a copy make it the way the blueprint has. Be the blueprint!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
L: “TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, etc. You can also find my music on Spotify, Apple Music, and anywhere else that you stream your music. <3″
Make sure to stream ‘Famous’, available now on all music platforms!
