Orlando Pineda Reveals His Dream Co-Star And Talks About New Role In Netflix’s ‘Griselda’

A star on the rise!

Mark our words: Orlando Pineda is going to be an A-List celebrity. And with his breakout role in the popular Netflix series ‘Griselda’, he’s halfway there.

We had the amazing honor of speaking with Orlando about advice for aspiring actors, his life motto, and more!

What inspired you to start acting?

O: “I found a safe place in acting from a young age. I was constantly moving from one city to another due to my dad´s job, and in the theater I always felt like I belonged.”

What was your favorite part about being in ‘GRISELDA’?

O: “Working with such talented Latinx actors. So many of them have had a career that I´ve looked up to since I was younger and ¨meeting those heroes¨ and learning from them is something I´ll remember for the rest of my life.”

What was it like to bring your character ‘Dixon Trujillo’ to life?

O: “It was a challenge at the beginning since my personality is so different from his, but once I understood the¨why¨ Dixon was the way he was, everything clicked. He is a troubled first born child that just wants to make his mother proud the only way he knows how, once I got that Dixon came to me and it was just fun to set him free.”

What is something you have learned from your experiences so far and will take with you throughout your career?

O: “Do the work, trust your gut, and when you´re on set, let go, be free. I will that for the rest of my life.”

What would be your dream film/series to act in, and who would you want to co-star with?

O: “I would love to do anything with Christopher Nolan, any of his films, he is a genius, something like Interstellar would be a dream come true. And I would love to co-star alongside Robert Downey Jr., he has been my favorite actor for a while and I just admire and respect his work more than anything.”

If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would it be?

O: “Smile, Love, Hope.”

If you could give advice to aspiring actors, what would it be and why?

O: “Stick to it, keep going, do the work, and have fun. So many people give up after a couple months or years of trying but this, like any other craft, takes time, to perfect it, to get yourself out there, to generally be good at it, so just keep going and enjoy the journey.“
