This entrepreneur is iconic!
Founder of Classy Casita, home to all of your plant needs, Emily Sanchez is a trailblazer for Latinx-owned businesses all over the world (especially ones with green thumbs!).
We had the amazing opportunity to speak with Emily about her life motto, creating a balance, and more!
What inspired the rise of ‘Classy Casita’?
E: “I was inspired by my love for plants and home decor. I began sharing my own content as a hobby when I came across the plant and home decor communities on Instagram back in 2018. My own community began to grow, and so much has happened since then; I’m super grateful!“
What was your favorite part of the process in creating both your blog and brand centered on ‘Classy Casita’?
E: “Having the opportunity to be creative has been my favorite part of the process. From this experience, I have learned that I absolutely love brand development, and it’s something I want to continue to do in the future through new projects and also expanding and improving on the projects I currently have.“
What are your ultimate goals or dream you have in mind for the brand?
E: “The fact that I already have my products at over 100 different shops worldwide is mind-blowing to me, but being able to offer my plant care products at major retail stores would be a dream. Growing the Classy Casita brand into offering more home decor products is a primary goal I have, and I really want to focus on this in 2024.“
What was it like to be able to create your own company and see it come to life? How do you feel this has inspired others?
E: “Seeing the amazing feedback from others who love something that I created for myself is such a rewarding experience. The fact that I am also a content creator and get to share different pockets of my life, including the entrepreneurial side of things, inspires other women to see that a normal girl like me can do it, then so can they.“
What is something you have learned from your experiences so far and will take with you throughout your career?
E: “What I have learned from my experience is that balance is key. As someone who is very passionate about their work, there are definitely times when I force myself to work or try to create when the best thing to do is stop and take a break. As I grow my business and as a person, I have learned that I need to take necessary breaks to refresh and allow myself to get back into a creative mood. It’s so much better for me to do things this way, or else I could risk my work from reaching its potential. “
If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would it be?
E: “This is going to sound super simple, but I would have to say, “Go for it.” It can make sense for different moments in life, whether there is something you are trying to surpass or a risk or experience you need a little push to take. I’m very much someone with a can-do attitude; I enjoy taking risks and I am very optimistic and positive, so I think it sums up my life motto.“
Can you tease some upcoming ideas you have in store for yourself and your brand?
E: “As I mentioned, I really want to focus on offering some more shop products that are not only plant-focused but also home decor. I have a huge passion for it, so I have wanted to do more of it lately, and I feel like 2024 is the year I just got for it.“
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
E: “You can follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube @classycasita.”
