A country star in the making!
Marie Wise-Hawkins is quickly becoming a name to know in the music industry. From ‘You’re All I Need’ to ‘Find Me On A Beach’, all of her songs are absolute bops!
We had the honor of speaking with Marie about her favorite music release thus far, Jimmy Buffett, and more!
What inspired you to start singing?
M: “Seeing LeAnn Rimes and Martina McBride own the stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards was pure magic. Their energy and talent were infectious, and from that moment on, I knew I had to give singing a shot. It was like a switch flipped inside me, and I haven’t looked back since.”
What was your favorite part about creating ‘Island Time’?
M: ‘Island Time’ was a whirlwind of fun! Filming the music video out in the open sea at Ventura Harbor was an adventure. The waves, the breeze, everything—it felt like we transported the whole song right into that ocean vibe.”
If you had to choose your favorite song you’ve released so far, what would it be?
M: ‘Somewhere in Mexico’ is that tune that just speaks to my soul. I’ve released a bunch of songs, but there’s something about this one that hits differently, you know?”
What was it like to work with Keith Hetrick and Suzanne Harper on your previous songs?
M: “Working with Keith Hetrick and Suzanne Harper was like bringing a dream team together. Suzanne and I set the groundwork for ‘Somewhere in Mexico,’ and Keith added that special sprinkle of genius that made it shine.”
Who would be your dream artist or songwriter to collaborate with next?
M: “Jimmy Buffett would’ve been a dream collab, but aiming high, I’ve got my eyes set on Bono from U2. His music is like poetry, and teaming up with him would be beyond awesome.”
What is something you have learned from your music career so far that you will take with you for the rest of your life?
M: “Music has taught me the golden rule: grind hard, stay focused, and be consistent. That’s my recipe for success, and you can bet I’ll keep that fire burning.”
If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would it be?
M: “My life’s mantra? Easy: ‘Live, Laugh, Love.’ It’s how I roll—living life to the fullest, finding joy in everything, and spreading love wherever I go.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
M: “For the latest scoop on my musical journey and all the behind-the-scenes fun, you’ll catch me hanging out on Instagram! Oh, and for a deeper dive into my world, head over to www.mariewisehawkins.com. It’s like the treasure chest of everything about me and my music!”
