A Florida-Nashville gem!
If you were looking for a new country artist to obsess over, then you have come to the right place. Kaleb Sanders voice is smooth like butter and with only two singles out, he’s already one of our favorites.
We had the amazing honor of speaking with Kaleb about performing live, ‘Closure’, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
K: “I think, deep down, it was always a part of me and it was always the thing I was most passionate about. On both sides of my family there are hundreds of years of music. My parents met through music, it was always around me. But it wasn’t until high school when my grandpa died. I looked up to him a lot and I had an experience after his funeral where I just knew.”
Tell us more about your amazing new single “Be Better.”
K: “Be Better” is special to me because it represents a time in my life when I realized I needed to make some changes and do what it takes to better myself. Be a better partner, whether or not the relationship the song is referring to worked out, I knew I had to “grow up” so to speak. The song came when it was supposed to after a long time of reflecting on who I was and how I was acting. I wanted this song to be for others who are struggling within themselves to give them an anthem of how the creative process can help you work through hard times.”
Were you surprised by the popularity your debut single “Couple Beers From Now” gained?
K: “Absolutely. Blown away. For me, it’s been eight years of faith and hard work not knowing if anyone would ever care about my music. To put this song out to the world, meant the world to me… to get to the point where I can do that and the response was what it was. It was incredible to me. It was very encouraging.”
Who would you credit as your biggest music inspirations?
K: “John Mayer, Whitney Houston and Jason Aldean. Whitney Houston is my favorite singer of all time. When I think about why I’m doing music, I think about her and that’s why. She brought that passion from the heart. Just raw, passionate and beautiful. I feel as if I have found someone in every genre where I love their music and they have shaped me as an artist.”
We hear that you want to do a 2023 Winter House Party Tour! Where would be your dream city to perform?
K: “That’s a good question, because it doesn’t matter to me where I’m at. I just want to be where there are people who are genuinely interested in meeting me. I can’t wait to have that experience with fans and make that connection. I want to build a heart to heart relationship with my fans and really be in those moments with them, wherever they may be.”
What is your favorite part when it comes to performing live?
K: “My favorite part is the part in the show where I feel my shyness goes away and I’m connecting with the crowd. That heart to heart connection is so inspiring and moves me. When I feel connected to them and that my music is moving the crowd, it moves me right back. Just the passion that is shared in the room, that’s it for me. That’s what we all do this for.”
Can we expect more music from you in 2024?
K: “Oh hell yeah!! Be on the lookout. I’m excited to share my first finished project, Closure, and get that out to the world. This journey of writing these songs has been long, life changing, and has helped me grow as a person. Just the idea of sharing these pieces of me with the world, something I have felt for so long, is exhilarating.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
K: “The best way to follow my journey is through my Instagram (@kalebsanders), where I share the most personal side of me.” Instagram | TikTok | Facebook
