Country Barbie is in the house!
Becca Bowen has consistently proven that she is a country star, with her incredible voice and undeniable charisma. There’s no telling what the future holds for her career!
We had the amazing honor of speaking with Becca about Dolly Parton, advice for aspiring artists, and more!
What inspired you to start singing?
B: “I started singing in church at the age of 5. I was influenced by my moms side of the family. Most of them sang and were musicians. I wanted to be just like them.”
What was your favorite part about creating “County Line”?
B: “County Line” is a personal song. It is about the journey to make big dreams come true. Something myself and my co-writer Sam Woods know a little something about. We both went to Nashville on our own journeys to pursue our dreams. It’s hard to leave what you are familiar with to start a new life. I know that many people will resonate with this song. I am very proud of its message. My favorite part about creating it was being vulnerable with the lyrics.”
If you had to choose, what is your favorite song you’ve released so far and why?
B: “My favorite song would be “County Line” because it’s a different side of me artistically. I really
went back to my roots to write this one.”
Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
B: “Dolly Parton for sure. She is an incredible role model for upcoming artists.”
What is something you have learned from your music career that you will take with you the rest of your life?
B: “The music industry has taught me to be resilient and determined. In everything that I do I give it
my all. That determination crosses over into my everyday life.”
If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would they be?
B: “Just Be You.”
Do you have any advice for other aspiring young artists?
B: “I would tell anyone who wants to pursue a career in music to have thick skin. This is a tough business to be in. If someone doesn’t believe in you, then find someone who does. Not everyone will be able to see what you have to offer. Take the No’s with a grain of salt and celebrate the yes’s! Your hard work will pay off in the end!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
B: “I am on all social media platforms. You can follow my journey there. Also at beccabowenmusic.com.”
Make sure to stream ‘County Line’, available now on all music platforms!
