Your ‘Favorite Girl’ just released her first EP!
If you are looking for a female artist where every song she releases sounds like a total masterpiece, then you’ve come to the right place. Izzy Raye has quickly become one of our favorites as a result of her top-notch debut EP ‘Favorite Girl’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Izzy about her dream music collaborations, producing, and more!
What inspired you to start singing?
I: “My dad taught me to sing when I was a little girl. My sister was also always into musical theater growing up, so she inspired me to sing.”
What was your favorite part about creating ‘Favorite Girl’?
I: “The collaboration between me and my amazing crew. When you work on a video with other creatives, the music really comes alive and becomes something outside of yourself. I love being on set with friends!”
How would you personally describe the music scene in New Jersey?
I: “Well, I wouldn’t really know since I mostly play and write in Brooklyn, but growing up it seemed pretty alive and well. My brother used to be in a pop- punk band during high school, and it was always so fun to see him play around my hometown.”
Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
I: “Pharrell. Or Frank Ocean, lol that’d never happen, but maybe… you never know. Or Lorde. So many!”
What is something you have learned from creating your EP that you will take with you throughout your career?
I: “Oh, man… I learned that I can produce music by my damn self!!!! I can take an idea for a song in my head and fully bring it to life. That feels really good.”
Do you have any advice for other aspiring young artists?
I: “Make bad stuff. Make so many bad songs. Hold yourself to your own standards, and never stop. And love to fail.”
If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would they be?
I: “Happiness. That’s all.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
I: “@izzyraye_ on social media and search Izzy Raye on all streaming platforms! Thank you so so much!”
