We’re sure you’ve heard of him before!
Singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin is quickly becoming a name to know in the music industry. He just released his debut album ‘Waiting For The Rain’, and spoiler alert: we can’t even choose a favorite track!
We had the amazing honor of talking with Andrew about his rising fame, Louis Tomlinson, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
A: “After I played my first gig at 18 I knew that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my
life.”
Tell us more about your amazing album, Waiting For The Rain. How does it feel to be releasing your first full-length album?
A: “I’m incredibly nervous, excited and also overwhelmed by all of the amazing support I’ve received since announcing the release of my debut record. I’m incredibly proud of this record and I’ve never been so confident to be releasing material, this is all thanks to the amazing producer, engineers, and musicians I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past year.”
If you had to choose, what is your favorite song from the album and why?
A: “My favorite song is the title track, “Waiting For The Rain,” which was written when I was 16. It
was the first song I ever wrote so it’s only fitting the debut album is called Waiting For The Rain.”
What is your songwriting process like?
A: “It varies…some days I can do the melody and lyrics in one, other days it’s a poem or melody which becomes a song. I’d like to think I’m quite versatile in the way that I’m writing now, it’s definitely something I’ve worked hard to improve since starting this journey.”
You have over 2 Million streams on just Spotify alone! What has been your reaction to your success online and on stage during your most recent tours?
A: “I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone for the support. It’s truly magical, playing shows and seeing people enjoying my music is the greatest privilege as a songwriter. It’s so so special and often enough leaves me speechless!”
What has it been like being able to work alongside Louis Tomlinson? Are you a fan of him/his music?
A: “I’m a big fan of Louis! On and off stage, the way he conducts himself is something I hugely admire. I’ll be forever grateful for everything he and his team have done for me. Being able to support and get to know Louis has taught me so much. Everyday I’m learning more and more and thanks to Louis, I’m making memories to last a lifetime.”
If you could choose anyone, which music artist would you love to work with next?
A: “I don’t really work like that, I’m really enjoying what I’m doing at the moment and I’m surrounded
with amazing people. I’m very content.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
A: “All the socials are a good start! Other than that, we have a very busy schedule of gigs and shows that takes us virtually into 2025.”
