TikTok Sensation Gabi Skylar Talks About Rising Fame, Labrinth, And New Single ‘Thank God’

‘Thank God’ for Gabi Skylar!

If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve definitely heard of talented music artist Gabi Skylar. From her impressive covers to her original music, she’s unstoppable. Gabi recently released a new single titled ‘Thank God’. And spoiler alert: it’s a bop!

We had the amazing honor of talking with Gabi about her first tour, a message to her fans, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

G: “I always loved music but only thought of it as a hobby until I was 13, which was when I met my manager and started going to a studio for the first time. The moment I was pursuing a career outside the walls of my childhood home is the moment I realized music was my lifeline.”

Tell us more about your amazing new single “Thank God.”

G: “Thank God” is that feeling of relief after ending a period of toxicity and beginning to reflect and rediscover my relationship with myself in an evolved perspective.”

What has been your favorite song you have released so far, and why?

G: “I really think it depends on the day because each song brings out different emotions but today, it’s “Good Kisser.” It just feels big, sensual and cinematic. A perfect combo of all things.”

Who would be your dream music artist to collaborate with?

G: “I would love to work with Labrinth, he’s so fresh and sonically fascinating.”

You have well over 3 million followers on TikTok! How does it feel to have so much online success? 

G: “I feel really grateful to everyone who’s supported me throughout my journey. I try to imagine what 3 million people would look like in a stadium and it’s overwhelming. I have so much love for everyone who’s been following along, whether it was when I was 15 with a hundred views, or now. I want to show up everyday for them the way they’ve shown up for me.”

What are your biggest goals for your music career? Maybe a tour in the future?

G: “I have been dreaming about going on tour for months— the setlist, the merch, the visuals, meeting the faces behind the screens. I’m hoping by 2024, I’ll be coming to a city near you. That’s the goal.”

Is there anything you want to say to your loyal fanbase?

G: “I love you all so much! Thank you so much for supporting the music and if you like what you’re hearing now, you’ll love the new stuff on the way. I wouldn’t be here without you so thank you, thank you, thank you.”
