A double threat!
Known for being a talented actor, Luke is showcasing more of his talents. He just embarked on an amazing music career and co-formed a music duo called ‘Duplexity’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Luke about working with his sister, their style of music as a duo, and more!
Tell us more about your amazing new single with your sister Savannah, ‘Billboards’.
L: “Our first single ‘Billboards’ is a pop/punk duo that is a nod to our 10+ year journey in the world of child acting. We moved to LA in 2013 for acting opportunities and wanted to pay homage not only to our
journey together but also to what an amazing city LA is to grow up in.”
How would you personally describe your style of music?
L: “I would describe our music as modern eclectic indie/rock with an 80’s metal and 90’s alternative
influence. We have grown up influenced by all kinds of music that my parents listened to. A couple songs
are duo’s, like ‘Billboards’. Some I sing lead vocals and Savannah sings back up. Others, Savannah
sings lead and I sing back up. We have a couple songs that are more pop/punk, some on the softer side
and a couple that are heavier with a more alternative feel.”
What is it like working alongside your sister?
L: “Working with Savannah is always the best! That is why when we knew it was time to start recording, we
wanted to start a duo instead of a solo career. We make the best team both creatively and in our level of
dedication. Duplexity has already been the most amazing experience because not only are we doing what
we love; making music and performing live. We get to do it together, every step of the way!”
Where would be your dream venue to perform?
L: “My dream venue would have to be the Hollywood Bowl! The Hollywood Bowl is such an amazing venue and it has such a quintessential LA vibe. From the open air design to the picnics on the lawn. I went to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time in April for Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday show. I couldn’t believe how cool the venue was! It would be a dream come true to perform on that awesome stage and in front of thousands of people jamming to our music!”
Can you tease what fans can expect from Duplexity’s upcoming EP?
L: “Our first EP titled ‘Billboards’ drops October 20th 2023. It includes 5 original songs. The first is the title
track ‘Billboards’ , a duet. One song is an acoustic ballad where Savannah sings lead and I sing backup.
Another has a harder alternative grunge vibe where I sing lead. The rest you will have to stream Oct 20 th
to find out! We cannot wait to share our music with the world and give a glimpse into our lives!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
L: “Our journey as Duplexity can be followed on many avenues. Our website www.Duplexityband.com has links to all of our social accts for the band ( IG, Tik Tok, YouTube and Facebook) We also have our individual social accts -IG @thelukejudy and @thesavannahjudy Tik Tok @thesavannahjudy @thelukejudy and also on Facebook.
