An icon in the making!
From acting to dancing to singing, Kelsi Davies is a jack of all trades. And she does each of them so well! She has 5 million followers on TikTok to prove it.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Kelsi about Vidcon 2023, advice for aspiring content creators, and more!
What inspired you to start taking your social media seriously?
K: “When I was a professional dancer and wanted to get into acting, this is about the time I learned how valuable having a social media following was in the industry. From then on, I started my journey in the social media world! I love creating new content, editing, and watching my visions come to life.”
You recently released a new single titled September 10th. Can you tell us more about the song and the inspiration behind it?
K: “This song is very personal to me. It digs into trauma and the journey I’ve had in order to set boundaries, move on from negative situations, and really find myself on a spiritual level. I had an intense situation happen on my birthday (September 10th) with a childhood friend that really opened my eyes to how we really all live in a different reality. As heartbreaking and traumatizing as it was, this situation propelled me on my spiritual journey. I was in a dark place for a while, but I found my way out of it in the most beautiful way. This song was produced by Comanavago, co-produced by Jessie Paege, and written by all of us collaboratively. The music video is directed by Kyra Gardner.”
What do you hope readers take away from the song after listening to it?
K: “To know that you are capable of finding the strength to get out of a relationship, friendship, or situation that does not serve your highest good and let go. If you find yourself stuck in a toxic cycle with someone, set boundaries and do not allow them to affect your energy.”
What would be your dream creator to collaborate with?
K: “I honestly don’t have anyone specific in mind, but there are some awesome people in the paranormal community that I would love to connect with and make some great videos with for sure. I just like having a good time, so anyone who is kind and fun to be around, I’m in!”
You have over 5 million followers on TikTok! What has been your reaction to your success?
K: “It’s just so surreal! When I first started, I remember thinking “one day I’ll make it to a million!” But over 5 million?! I almost can’t comprehend it. Getting recognized in public is when it really hits me though, it makes me so happy to meet some of my followers in person. I truly get excited every time and I’m just so beyond grateful.”
What is your inspiration behind your platforms?
K: “My friend, OmargoshTV, inspired a lot of my YouTube paranormal exploration content! I was a fan of his, we later became friends, and he taught me so much about YouTube. When I wanted to give up, he told me to keep going, and even pushed me to keep posting on TikTok! My short form content is inspired by my daily life, my psychic gifts, and the ghosts I see in my apartment.”
What was your experience like at VidCon this year?
K: “It was life changing. I was not expecting to have such an incredible experience. The “Thrills and Chills” panel I was on was so exciting, the seats were completely filled, and I got to be up on a panel with creators that I look up to and that are now friends of mine. It really inspired me to push forward and keep going.”
If you could describe your life motto in three words, what would they be?
K: “Love, Authenticity, and Peace.”
Do you have any advice for other aspiring young creators?
K: “Never give up. Always stay true to yourself, and never let anyone drag you down. As you grow, you’ll notice that there will be people around you who don’t want you to achieve your goals. Be authentic, protect your energy, and reach for the stars.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
K: “My Instagram, Twitter, Threads, and TikTok handle is @kelsiidaviess, and my YouTube channel is “Kelsi Davies.”
