An actor who’s always on our screens!
From ‘Love Victor’ to ‘The Division’, Tarik Ellinger is truly a star on the rise. Also, if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’re in luck! He constantly shares Star Wars content on Instagram.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Tarik about the character he wants to cosplay as next, advice to aspiring actors, and more!
You have made your love for Star Wars such a big part of your platform! So, first and foremost, who’s your favorite Star Wars character and do you think you relate to them?
T: “My favorite character is easily Anakin Skywalker. The story of Star Wars isn’t about Luke or Leia, it’s the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Growing up, Anakin was my hero. Showing that even hero’s fall, but can still choose to be good no matter what they’ve done.”
How’d your journey in the acting industry begin?
T: “My journey into acting started when I was on set with my sister, and over time I just really wanted to give it a try! I fell in love with it ever since.”
What has been your favorite role you’ve portrayed so far and why?
T: “I’ve played a bunch of incredible roles that I love, but hands down it was being able to voiceover Kid-Flash/Wally West in “The Flash: Repentance”. I am a huge superhero fan, with The Flash being one of my favorite characters. Being able to act out the action and emotional scenes was an honor.”
How do you balance your acting career with your school work?
T: “Lots of Multitasking! It’s definitely a challenge to balance school and acting, but since I started so young, it definitely allowed me to get used to handling both tasks at once. Communicating with my school that I’m a working actor helped a lot!”
You have been acting for quite a long time! What’s your biggest takeaway from this industry that you can carry over into all other aspects of your life?
T: “Meeting new people has been the best part of acting for me. Everyone loves to think about themselves on screen, and while that is awesome, I promise the best takeaway I had was all of the friendships and connections I made with the numerous cast and crews. Being able to have this sort of family just makes me happier to be an actor, and allows all of the hard work and patience to be worth it in the end.”
We love your cosplay photos! What character would you like to take on next?
T: “I’m so happy you like them! A character I really wanna do is The Joker from Suicide Squad!”
What advice can you give to aspiring actors who want to pursue a career?
T: “Stay patient. I always tell aspiring actors that it will be a long journey when starting to pursue acting, and so stay patient through all of the countless auditions you will have. It’s so easy to give up, you just can’t let yourselves do so.”
Lastly, where can our readers follow your journey? Hope you’re having a great time and may the force be with you!
T: “May the force be with you all! If you want to see what else I’m up to, check out my socials!”
