NS EXCLUSIVE: Maya Le Clark Talks About What Fans Can Expect From ‘Thundermans Returns’

You might recognize Maya Le Clark from her amazing role as Chloe Thunderman in ‘The Thundermans’ and ‘Thundermans Returns’. She is also of our cover stars for our recent Summer 2023 Virtual + Print issue.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Maya about her dream costar, playing soccer, and more!

How did it feel to reunite with the ‘Thundermans’ cast for ‘Thundermans Returns’?

M: “Super fun and I loved seeing everyone again. It was basically like we never left. Even though I still was the youngest, I feel I got to experience everything differently – in a good way – because I am older. I was more involved and it was fun to make new memories with the cast.“

In ‘The Thundermans’ series, your character Chloe has the power of teleportation! If you could have any super power in real life, what would it be and why?

M: “Actually, I would choose Teleportation because then I would be able to get to different places in seconds, and I would never be late for anything! I would get to travel to different places like Hawaii, Florida Keys, Bali, and to New York and the east coast to see my family.“

Since you are a part of the Nick family, what are some of your favorite Nickeloden movies and TV shows?

M: “I really like The Loud House, Stuck in the Middle, Sam & Cat, and iCarly. And I’m just starting to get into Aaron and Erin because I love a lot of the people who were also part of The Thundermans.“

We are so excited for the movie! Can you tease what fans can expect from the film?

M: “In the movie, Phoebe and Max are enjoying their superhero lifestyle just like usual, but of course they are always competing, so when one ‘save’ goes awry, the Thundermans are sent back to Hiddenville. Nora and Billy are going to High School and as you’d expect, they get to hilariously mess around with Principal Bradford. And then, don’t worry, Chloe still has her sassiness and gets do some cool stuff and show Hank and Barb she’s not such a little girl anymore.“

Who would be your idea of a dream co-star and why?

M: “Jenna Ortega – she’s one of my idols, she’s such a cool person, and she was part of the Nick family, which is so awesome. I like how she can do drama and comedy, which is something I like to do as well.“

What type of character role would you love to take on next (ex. villain/action star)?

M: “I would love to take on a villain or something with some drama in it. I’ve always been known as the superhero in a comedy so it would be fun and challenging to do something different. And if we could throw in some action star stuff in there that would be cool too because I love to do stunts!“

You are an amazing soccer player! What do you love the most about being an athlete?

M: “Thank you so much! I have been working really hard at it and have had some awesome coaches along the way! I love being challenged, learning new things, and doing my best. I also love being part of a team that’s always there for me, and working together. Teamwork rocks!“

What are some of your other favorite hobbies to do in your free time?

M: “I like to experiment with other sports, like Volleyball and Gymnastics. I know it’s not really a hobby but I really do love to do Tik Toks because I get to be creative with different types of content. I’m also part of this awesome organization called Kids for Peace and it’s cool when we get to do different things for the world and the earth. Mostly, I love to just hang out with my friends.“

You almost have 1 Million Instagram followers! Is there anything you want to say to your fans?

M: “Thank you so much for being so supportive and positive! Always be kind and lift yourself and others in your community up and never give up if you have a dream! Sometimes it will feel really hard, but you can always learn and grow from it all.“
