A new song to obsess over!
Shiadanni is no stranger to our music playlists. She is known for her incredible bops, including ‘Velvet World’, ‘Penny Pills, and ‘Latin Renaissance’. Now, she’s back with a new single ‘Violent’. And we can’t wait for you to see the music video (keep scrolling!).
We had the amazing honor of speaking with Shiadanni to talk about the release, her rising fame, and more!
Tell us more about your amazing new single ‘Violent’.
S: “Violent is a love letter to my own mental health, a different approach to a healing journey which isn’t linear, it explores deep confessions involving past trauma with a very compassionate lense. It explores the craving of a violent love while understanding this is something you don’t want anymore. My music has been my process of exploring myself as much as I can, I write from my heart following sounds that move me and help me discover parts of myself that I may not understand or even thought about before. I think writing with that honest perspective creates a genuine connection with people who go through the same experiences.
How important do you think Latina representation is in the music industry?
S: “It’s so important to show that following your creative passion can be a possibility, that originality is not exclusive to some people. We need more female Latinas leading their projects and speaking their different creative voices. It can be challenging to try to fit in certain boxes and to try to be digestible to the public for what everyone’s comfortable with, but it is bravery that’s needed for your authenticity to flourish. People need to see that uniqueness is celebrated, so they don’t feel the pressure to become like everybody else.”
If you could collab with any music artist, who would you be and why?
S: “I think it would be Lana Del Rey. She keeps inspiring me to develop true artistry in a way that nobody else does. I admire her as a songwriter, singer, but mostly as the real artist she is, she does what she feels, swims against the current and couldn’t care less about the noise around her. I think I will forever love her.”
You have 5 Million followers on TikTok! How have you reacted to your rising fame?
S: “It’s amazing to have such a big following but to me nothing has changed. To be honest, everything around me stays the same. I have a very simple routine; I wake up with my cat, I cook, make music, and Facetime my mom. I work towards my goals using social media, but I try to enjoy my everyday life as much as I can. I try to stay focused on my true purpose while working so hard which is the art, the music and the passion I have for all of it.”
We hear that you are releasing more music this year! Can you tease what fans can expect?
S: “More madness transform into art as always, The new music is very different from my previous EP, which I knew would happen, my production is changing, my sound is changing and I am having so much fun in the process, I am proud of my growth as a producer but I am more proud at how I’ve learned to love and enjoy the process, to remember to stop chasing an imaginary concept of success and understand that success is simply thriving in that thing that makes you YOU, bringing you the confidence and power through that authenticity to keep walking on earth on your own steps.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
