A young star on the rise!
Actress Kayden Tokarski has nailed every role we’ve seen her in. She’s also won over 10 awards in her career, so far!
We had the amazing honor of talking with Kayden about her favorite Julia Roberts movie, winning so many awards, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career as an actress?
K: “I wanted to be an actress ever since I was 4 years old and watched a Disney show called “Good Luck Charlie.” I love Bridget Mendler and shows with Zendaya. My parents thought I was way too young and didn’t want me to pursue acting. That all changed when they saw me in a play when I was in fourth grade. I got to play the lead role and they realized I really have a passion for this.”
You played a young Julia Roberts in ‘Gaslit’! What was that experience like for you?
K: “Oh my gosh, that was the biggest dream come true and such a huge honor! I got to work with the amazing director Matt Ross and the most talented actor Jesse Bush who played my dad. I still pinch myself about the insane honor of playing a young Julia Roberts!”
Do you have a favorite Julia Roberts movie?
K: “She is such a wonderful actress and I have to say my favorite movie of hers is “Wonder.” I read the book, and she was so amazing in that role.”
Have you ever been starstruck before?
K: “YES! I was incredibly fortunate to see a screening of “Elvis” and Q&A with Austin Butler. I was screaming when he came on stage and was so lucky to take a selfie with him. I thought I was going to faint! He is a great actor and also so very humble, which I think is so important.”
How does it feel to have won so many awards at such a young age?
K: “Honestly, I am still in shock! It’s such a huge honor and I am incredibly humbled and grateful.”
What advice can you give to young girls who want to pursue a career in acting?
K: “I would tell them to take acting classes as those are so important to help develop your skills and
knowledge. I would also say you have to be able to handle rejection because it’s an incredibly
tough and competitive industry BUT also stay motivated, humble and keep moving forward. You
can’t give up on your dreams. My wonderful agent Sueanne Edan always says this industry is a
marathon and not a sprint, so I always try to keep that wise perspective in mind!”
When not acting, what are some of your favorite things to do?
K: “I love spending time with my mom, dad and little brother and friends. I also used to be a competitive diver on a dive team where I made the junior Olympics on the 1-meter. I loved that sport but had to take a break because of the time commitment. I have been thinking of getting back into diving but less
competitively.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
K: “Thank you so very much for asking! You can follow me on IG, Twitter and YouTube @kaydentokarski and on TikTok @kkaydentokarski.”
