Ava Louise Murchison Talks About Traveling The World For New Role In Apple TV+’s ‘Jane’

A star on the rise!

Ava Louise Murchison is quickly becoming a name to know! She currently stars as the titular role in the new Apple TV+ series ‘Jane’.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Ava about Zendaya, her advice for aspiring actresses, and more!

When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue an acting career?

A: “I was about 8 years old when I did short films and that’s really when I decided to pursue acting as a career. I love expressing emotions and playing different characters—it felt very natural for me to do and it’s a lot of fun!”

Tell us more about your role in the amazing Apple TV+ series ‘Jane’.

A: “I play the role of Jane Garcia, a 9-year old environmentalist whose idol is Dr. Jane Goodall. She goes on imaginary missions with her friends David and her toy Chimpanzee to help save endangered animals.”

Do you think you have anything in common with your character Jane?

A: “I love animals too and I actually have a dog named Winter. My family also has Filipino and Mexican roots, just like Jane. Personality-wise, we’re both determined to do anything we set our minds to!”

What was it like to travel all over the world to film this series? Where was your favorite place to visit?

A: “It was an amazing experience to film in the African savannahs, Costa Rican rainforests, and Albertan mountains. My most favorite place was Kenya because I saw wild animals up close that I’ve never seen before like a leopard and a lion family eating the insides of a zebra. I also got a chance to pet a Northern white rhino (only 2 remaining on Earth) and feed a black rhino!”

Is there an actress that you would love to work with?

A: “The actress that I would absolutely love to work with is Zendaya. :)”

What advice can you give to young girls who want to be actresses?

A: “My advice is to always believe in yourself and never give up.”

When not acting, what are some of your favorite things to do?

A: “I love swimming and having sleepovers with my friends.”
