This country singer is on the rise!
Nashville-based music artist Ashley Anne is quickly becoming the next person to add to your favorite playlist. Following her recent bop ‘Dolly’, she is back with a new single titled ‘Get Well Soon’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Ashley about balancing school with music, her creative process, and more!
What inspired you to be a musician?
A: “Sounds cliche, but it has never not been a part of me. There has never been any question as to what I want to do with my life, it has always been music. So technically I guess I was never really “inspired” but rather it just came naturally to me and I have never doubted it.”
What was the inspiration behind your new single ‘Get Well Soon’.
A: “It was written and influenced by a situation I was in back in January. I had received a comment by an old friend that was not so nice and I took it and ran with it as a song idea.”
What is your creative process when you write new music?
A: “My mind is locked. I could be in the middle of an arena and write a song in the noise, I could be at the beach, I could be driving. It is all a work of my mind and it is so interesting because I do not necessarily have to sit down and drop everything to focus on writing a song, it just comes to me at the weirdest times.”
If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?
A: “Probably someone like Kelsea Ballerini, Megan Moroney, or Taylor Swift; not only because I admire their music, but because I think we reach the same audience.”
How do you juggle being in school and a budding music career?
A: “It is not easy by any means, if I am being honest, I spend more time on music than I do with school. I find myself writing songs in math class and humming melodies walking around campus, it is just always around me.”
Can we expect to see new music from you in the future?
A: “Absolutely! New music hopefully coming within the next two months.”
