This actor is about to go on an adventure!
Mason has been a part of some of our favorite shows, from to Disney’s ‘Sydney To The Max’ to ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’. Next, he’s starring in the highly-anticipated Apple TV series ‘Jane’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Mason about his favorite Disney movie, learning CGI, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
M: “I got started in the industry when I was around 7 years old. My mom signed me up for Theater Camp and I loved it! I loved being in front of people performing and I loved all the new people I met. I enrolled in acting classes and realized that acting was definitely what I wanted to do!”
Tell us more about your role in the amazing Apple TV+ series ‘Jane’.
M: “David is Jane’s best friend and they are always going on epic imaginary Adventures trying to help protect the environment and its animals. He is always hungry and he always loves learning about animals from Jane so I guess you could say he is hungry for food and hungry for knowledge. Davis adds levity to scary situations by cracking jokes. He was such a fun character to play!”
Do you think you have anything in common with your character David?
M: “Yes, I have lots in common with David! We both love food and we’re always eating. This was a fun part about playing David because I got to eat food in many scenes. We’re both funny and we love making people laugh. We especially love a good pun! I really enjoy playing comedic characters so I loved stepping into the role of David.”
What was it like to travel all over the world to film this series? Where was your favorite place to visit?
M: “Every place we filmed was amazing because they were all so unique and I got to learn about so many different environments and the animals there. But, my top pick would be Kenya, Africa! There were so many animals there including monkeys, zebras, lions, tigers, elephants, gazelles, giraffes, and more! We even went on two safaris that were super cool! One of the best experiences there was when I got to meet the last two living Northern White Rhinos. It was really emotional when the guide was talking about how there would be no more after these two died. But this is also a good reminder of why we need this show and the teachings of Dr. Jane Goodall to help inspire others to make a difference to keep this from happening to more species.”
You also voiced young Chip in the amazing Disney movie ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’. What was that experience like?
M: “I actually already had watched and really liked the 90’s Chip n Dale series before I booked this role. So when I found out I was going to voice Young Chip, such an iconic character, I was over the moon! Being part of the Disney family is such an honor! The voice director was really nice and I had a blast voicing this character! I loved watching the final film, they did such a great job!”
Now that you are a part of the Disney family, what are some of your favorite Disney shows and movies?
M: “My favorite Disney movie is “Cool Runnings”! I watched it last winter when I was on a snowboarding trip with some friends and it was so good. I love how inspirational it is! In terms of a show, when I was younger I played a co-star role on an episode of “Sydney to the Max” so I started watching that show and liked it. It is really funny!”
When you aren’t acting, what are some of your favorite things to do?
M: “I have many hobbies. My favorite sport is football and I play in a flag football league. Recently I have been learning how to yo-yo and am working on learning new tricks! But one of my favorite hobbies was inspired by JANE. The CGI artists did such an amazing job creating the animals that they inspired me to learn how to do this. I have been teaching myself how to do CGI by watching youtube and reading tutorials. It is super fun and I love being creative!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
M: “I am on instagram at TheMasonBlomberg and my website is www.MasonBlomberg.com thank you!”
