An amazing actress!
Comedian and actress Kelli Ogmundson has been getting our attention on screen for years. She is currently starring in the new and popular Fox series ‘Animal Control’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Kelli about her dream roles, whether she would come back for a season 2, and more!
Tell us more about your character in the new FOX series ‘Animal Control’.
K: “Dolores is the thread keeping the fabric of the office together! She believes in making good sustainable choices, and keeping things up to standard! Does she have patience for silliness? No, not really. Is there a lot of silliness at Animal Control? Yes, yes there is.”
Do you think you have anything in common with Dolores?
K: “I think I am also a bit of a gentle weirdo like her. She loves to know what’s goin’ on and I know I definitely do too. I think she takes on a lot of responsibility and I put a lot on myself as well.”
What is it like working with animals on set? Are you an animal person?
K: “Oh I’m a big ol’ animal person for sure. It is so fun! Imagine anytime you have a break at work, there is just a dog or a kitten there to look at, or if you’re lucky, pet!”
‘Animal Control’ is doing so well! Would you be down to return for a Season 2?
K: “ABSOLUTELY. I love the whole cast and crew so much, it would be such a dream to be a part of it again! Fingies crossed!”
What would be your idea of a dream role?
K: “Jessica Fletcher on Murder She Wrote. I love a good mystery, and I love the idea of working in nice comfy sweaters. Honestly, Natasha Lyonne is currently living my dream on Poker Face!”
You are hilarious! Who are your personal favorite comedians?
K: “I’m such a fan, I’m going to try hard to not go on and on… Maria Bamford is one of my favorite stand ups of all time! I’ve also always loved Amy Sedaris and the way she has no fear. I love everything Quinta Brunson is doing and I’m so inspired by her ability to create. I just saw John Early live and he was incredible. Also, Cole Escola, with whom I share a birthday!”
You have a background in improv. What advice can you give to young girls who want to pursue a career in comedy?
K: “Take up space and don’t let anyone talk over you. Also say your joke loud because if you’re quiet, someone will repeat it louder and get the laugh, and I ….hate that. Be weird and don’t be afraid to look ugly.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
K: “I’m @kelliogs on Instagram and @kelliogmundson on Twitter. I swear I am trying to be more active on there, but it will mostly be pictures of my cat.”
Make sure to watch Kelli in ‘Animal Control’, only on Fox!
