What an incredible actor!
After only being in the entertainment industry for a few years now, Julian Vidaurrazaga is constantly on our TV screens! He recently starred in the popular Brat TV series ‘Mani’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Julian about his hobbies, his upcoming acting projects, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
J: “When I was 5 years old I would watch a lot of superhero movies like Spider-Man. I would let my
imagination run wild, and make up scenarios where I was the superhero who would beat the villains. This is when I knew that I wanted to bring my performance to the audience so they can be entertained and inspired by it. Although I did not pursue my acting career until the age of 11, I gained a lot of knowledge by analyzing other actors’ performances and by taking acting/theater classes at my school.”
Last year you starred in the Brat Tv series ‘Mani’. What was that experience like?
J: “Starring in the Brat Tv series was an honor and a great opportunity. I played the role of Kenny who was a Latino teen boy player. I had an amazing experience with the cast and screw. The first cast member I met was Txunamy Ortiz, she was so humble and easy to talk to. The scenes we had together were so fun to film and she was very professional. The creator of the show Lawrence Wayne Curry who also plays as Mani, was so funny, so respectful and filled with a lot of positive energy. He really brought a lot of life to the series and really treated me like family. Overall, I left with a positive experience and would definitely come back again as Kenny or in any other Brat Tv show.
Now that you are a part of the Brat TV family, do you have any other favorite Brat shows?
J: “My other favorite Brat Tv shows besides Mani of course, would have to be Charmers or Chicken Girls Forever Team. I am really into coming of age, drama and supernatural Tv shows.”
What advice can you give to kids who want to pursue a career in acting like yours?
J: “My advice to kids who want to pursue a career in acting would be make sure it’s something you want and love. Join your school theater or drama class to get a feel for it. If it’s something that still interests you, get your parents or a family member’s full support because you will definitely need it. Always continue to practice your craft, keep a strong mind as you will get a lot of rejections or no’s in this industry. Never give up and continue to work hard for your dreams.”
How do you balance your career with being in high school?
J: “I balance my career while in high school by having communication with my teachers and school
administration. I make sure they understand that this is my long-term career but that my school
is also important. I always keep up to date with my classwork/homework.”
When not acting, what are some of your favorite things to do?
J: “When I am not filming a movie/Tv show some of my favorite things to do are play soccer as a
goalkeeper/defender, play my electric guitar, play video games on my PS5 and do some video
game development.”
Can you tease what projects you have coming up?
J: “I have a lot of projects coming up and some in the works. The first one is an animated cartoon series called “Mystery Box”. I play one of the lead characters whose name is Matteo Ramos. He is an adorable, charming and a bit sneaky teen boy. The series is about three curious kids who accidentally stumble upon an elusive cold case, they find themselves unraveling a mystery that will require them to use their creativity, intellect, and STEM skills to catch the criminals. Another project releasing in the summer is a podcast audio fiction series which I was honored to be a part of as one of the leads. Once I have the green light I will post about it on my instagram page @julianvidaurrazaga.
I am currently doing to film a feature film and short film. The featured film will film in New Mexico and the short film will be filmed in Los Angeles next month. The feature film will have a coming of age story, adventure, horror and twisted outcomes . This will be release in many film festivals. The short film will have science fiction, adventure and drama.
