An artist you need to know!
Nashville’s Johnny Dailey has been making an amazing stride in the music scene, with Millions of streams on his music, on just Spotify alone. Recently, he released a single entitled ‘Over A Girl’.
We had the amazing honor of talking to Johnny about his rising fame, ‘Got Married’ and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
J: “It wasn’t even a thought in my mind as a career until I was a senior in high school. That’s where the dream of writing songs came about. I really started chasing it heavily when I was 23 or 24 years old.”
Tell us more about your amazing new single ‘Over A Girl’.
J: “For this song, the lyrics came first, we loved the idea and we just kept riffing off of each other. My co-writers and I wanted the verses to be lyrically driven, and I love how it turned out. Each line is so detailed. We were just like, “What are the things you do over a girl? Well you wash your truck, you dress a little nicer, you maybe get in a fight.” It all pieced together so nicely and we tried to make it flow.”
If you could collab on a song with any fellow country artist, who would it be and why?
J: “Alan Jackson has been one of my biggest influences since I started writing songs. I love his lyrics and dedication to storytelling in his songs – he’s definitely an inspiration to me and I’d love an opportunity to pick his brain in a session.”
What has been your reaction to receiving nearly 5 Million streams on your music, on just Spotify alone?
J: “It’s so crazy seeing the numbers continue to grow, but I just feel grateful that people are interested in my music and like my story. Every song is made with love for sure.”
What has been your favorite song you have released so far?
J: “They are all special to me for different reasons but one that definitely stands out is “Got
Married.” I sat down with my co-writers Dan Couch and Matt Bubel and told them my story
about meeting my wife and our journey to Nashville. The writing process for that one was really
special and the song means a lot to me.”
Can we expect more music from you this year?
J: “Oh yeah! We’ve been in the studio and have some new music in the works for later this year.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
J: “All the sites! Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and my website!”
