She is back and better than ever!
Now 21 years old, Caroline Romano has been captivating the music scene for years. She recently released a single entitled ‘Guts’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Caroline about her songwriting process, Nashville, and more!
We haven’t talked to you since 2021 (but we are so proud of your growth!) – how have you been since then?
C: “Thank you so much, I’ve been doing well! Since 2021 I’ve really just been focused on making music in which I’m almost uncomfortably honest. It’s been a lot of figuring out how that sounds, and really just who I am as a person. I’m 21 now, and I think I’ve definitely grown a lot in the last 2 years, but at the same time I feel like I’m just getting started.”
Tell us more about your amazing new single “Guts.”
C: “Guts” is definitely an example of one of those almost uncomfortably honest songs. I’m a very socially anxious person, and I’ve found that I tend to say too much or drink too much, or generally just fall apart around anyone I want to impress. I’ve never learned how to play it cool, how to be that mysterious and alluring girl in a crowded room. I always end up spilling my guts to someone. “Guts” is just anxiety pop really.”
What is your songwriting process like?
C: “My songwriting process looks a bit different every time. It will often start with just me writing some feelings or ideas down in my notes as they happen to me. I’m very much a lyrics focused writer, so I tend to always start with them. Depending on the song, I’ll either write it completely by myself at home, or I’ll bring an idea to my friends that I write with often. That’s what I love about songwriting, in that it happens a little differently every single time.”
You are based in Nashville! How would you personally describe the music scene in Nashville?
C: “I love the music scene in Nashville. I think it’s just so unique from anywhere else. The pop scene in town has grown so much in the last few years, and we’ve seen some really big pop names come out of Nashville. Everyone knows each other, and it’s basically just like writing with your friends every day. It’s an incredibly supportive environment, and I’m just so grateful to be a part of it.”
Are you planning on releasing more music this year? Can you tease what’s to come?
C: “There is a lot more music coming out this year! “Guts” is just the first of about 6 or 7 songs I’m planning on releasing within the next few months. Sonically, this project is a lot calmer, more indie-pop than my last, so I’m excited for it!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
C: “You can follow me on Instagram (@carolineromanomusic), TikTok (@carolinermusic), Facebook and Twitter (@CarolineRomano) and anywhere you can stream music! Thank you so much!”
